I bought two t shirts in Victoria Secret in 2009 and I'm still wearing(for around the place etc). Interesting what you say because I find them very comfortable and flattering on my full bust. My in laws are coming from the states this year. Perhaps I'll put an order in.

Banana Republic used to do a great, substantial white cotton long-sleeved crew-neck tee that I loved for cooler weather, but they don't seem to have them anymore. Ralph Lauren's tees also had incredible longevity, (I've owned some for over 10 years) and probably still do, but I haven't been buying t-shirts lately, so I can't say for sure. Will be curious to hear how you like your new ones.

Mossimo Supply from Target are far and away my favorite t-shirts. I size up because I don't like my tees to be form-fitting. I find they wear well and drape perfectly. They cost between $6.00 and $9.00.

GREAT post. May I ask how sheer it is? I am trying to avoid too-sheer tops.

I love my sized-up Everlane V-neck tee. It does seem limiting in body type--it fits me perfectly as a small-busted rectangle, but the chest wouldn't stretch well for larger busts. Nice and opaque, washes well as long as the initial piece has passed quality control (my first tee came with a hole in it, but Everlane CS was happy to credit me to order another one which has held up well).

I happened upon Ash & Rose Threads 4 Thought tee shirts last summer and ordered two at $18 each. The organic cotton blend is really nice and the colors aren't sheer. I don't know about white, but you could send a query to the company and ask?

I had good luck with Madewell and Splendid in the past. Every summer I pretty much need a new white tee (the old one gets retired to ranch wear as its inevitably stained or pilling).

I do have an Everlane tee which is nicely made and not too see-through, but yes, the cut is a little off for me -- maybe a bit too straight and it pulls across my boobs a bit even though it's plenty roomy enough through the body.

Thank you for sharing! Good white tees are hard to find, especially V-necks because they need to be just right. Not too low, not too high, not too thick, not too sheer.

I've been ordering white tees from Lands' End and have been happy with them. I have some supposedly dressier ones on order from LLBean right now, they should be here this week.

I've been on the hunt for a solid white tee for months, and discovered this lovely off-white Vince tee on sale at Nordie's. The sleeves offer substantial coverage and are roomy. The v is low enough to be alluring, but not too low for those with smaller busts who don't fill out shirts. Despite the loose fit, the tee has a lovely drape.

In the past, I've tried:

Everlane--fit consistently off
J. Crew--holes formed almost immediately
EF--cotton tees too boxy, silk tees too tight for those with big upper arms
& Other Stories--liked the tee, but stained immediately and never came out. Pilled quickly.
Theory--price point too high. Plus, every Theory garment I've bought in the past year has had stitching unravel.
Victoria Secret pocket tee--this was from many years ago. Amazing fit, but too low cut for small chests.

I hope this is helpful. Feel free to share any recs that have worked for you.
