I have two other pairs from the brand so I am hopeful. These are slightly less pointy than the others but that's probably a good thing.

If they work with the below pieces I will be happy!!

Those are lovely, hope they work. I idly had a look through shoe sites this morning and the only pair I found that I thought might suit you was funnily enough cream as well- think it was called the Josephine by Mi Piaci. Don’t remember how many sizes were still available. So if the Frankie4 pair doesn’t work, that might be another option. I didn’t find metallic ones with the toe shape you like.
Good that they were on sale!

Sorry about the delayed response.

JAileen - I can see that white sneakers are not your go too. And Suz - with other white options that white are not as well utilised.

Thanks Jaime - I do like the idea of white with a gum sole.

Star - blush is really versatile and I know white can be too bright at times. I quite like the contrast - think that's my bright spring category.

Thanks Jenni - metallic boots are fab. And Bijou - love your collection

Lisa - red is appealing......and quite versatile too.

Mary - gold is also appealing!!

Roberta - lovely collection of footwear

Carol - thanks - I agree white sneakers have been such a thing. And I still like them for their ability to be versatile, and provide some contrast.

Love your new pair Robin - they look perfect for you.

And Karie - I can see white working for you because like me you like a bit of brightness in your outfit.

UPDATE: I have taken so long replying - but have made a call to buy some cream boots on sale from Frankie4 that Angie profiled recently. They were on sale and are from a podiatrist designed brand.

I plan to now wait and see if I need white sneakers or whether another option will work. I decided cream will be good for dressy work and light time- and I do have two other pairs of brown boots although one are tall and one are more casual.

It sounds like you might be moving away from white sneakers? I would vote for a caramel or camel pair for you. Re. the boots: My vote is for camel or metallic! Whichever one will work best to spice up your workwear and dinner/theater-wear (and be comfortable for walking).

I have never worn white sneakers, and don't really wear sneakers much, overall. But recently I did get some Salomon hybrid sneaker-type shoes, which work well for casual wear and can handle snow and slush, and I bought a pair of acid lime Pumas, reasoning that because they don't match anything in my wardrobe, they will go with everything, lol. We shall see how that plan plays out, once sneaker weather arrives here in like 6 weeks!

I love white sneakers and own quite a few! For the past year I’ve been wearing them more than ever before.
I like the gold metallic booties. I have found that I wear metallic footwear much more often than I thought I would, as they are very versatile and go with almost anything.

I have wanted some white gum sole sneakers for a few years but my current white sneakers were fine and I couldn't justify getting something that I already had. Well now they are getting worn enough that I added some new ones this weekend, the Pumas below. I had never been a huge sneaker person until the last 5 or so years and now find that they are so versatile that I wear them quite a bit. Almost as much as my boots this winter! I like the way they casual-ize my work clothes.

Anyway - for you I love the idea of some caramel boots and low profile gum sole sneakers. Some of the white ones have a colored stripe that could be fun but still go with a lot. I also love my black Adidas because the white sole on them prevents them from feeling too heavy.

Thanks Irina - I love those metallic boots but they would cost me about $800 with our exchange rate and shipping!! I may look for something similar. I feel that one pair of white/cream footwear for winter could be useful either boots or sneakers - but gold would also be a possibility. I am a bit fatigued from white sneakers too after wearing them a lot for so many years. I don't see animal print working for me - like it for others though.

Thanks Dee - I can see why grey would work for you. I do like some contrast and shoes can be a good place to get this.

White sneakers were such a thing--especially among young people in LA. Maybe white sneakers in a Sam Edelman style, with black leggings and a navy hoodie. Or with jeans and a jacket.

I've never been into the white sneakers phenomenon, but I would love to have some classic white Keds. They have such a Sixties summer vibe.

If you want white sneakers, get them, but if you are a sneakers person, consider getting something totally different, like a red or black.

And based on just the colors you suggested, a cream boot would be great, because it always has such impact.

I wear a LOT of sneakers, but always a lace-up style. The zipper or slip-on styles never seem to fit quite right. The ones I wear the most are all white (Rieker, no Find), a Nike mix of beige and white, or silver Cole Haan. The Nikes are very in your face athletic, but also the most comfortable. I love the look of the gum sole, but haven't yet found a pair with a good fit.

I have bronze and silver booties and get a ton of wear out of them in the winter, although neither are really winter boots. If it is slushy I will choose something else, but if the pavement is dry, out come the metallics! They always make me feel a little more dressed up.

How about a red sneaker in suede or a mix of nylon and suede ? It would work well with your yellows / golds and any of your prints . I find red footwear just lifts any outfit in such an unexpected way .

And funny you are wondering about white sneakers . I was just thinking yesterday how much I’m looking forward to getting mine out again . I don’t wear them during our winter months ( even at work ) so they are feeling fresh again to me .

I like the idea of the metallic boot your posted above.

I wear sneakers a lot - even in summer because they are comfortable and great for walking. My white sneakers are the least worn. I prefer my sneakers to co-ordinate with my clothes or be a bit more of a statement. That said the beige sneaker with white sole is a good neutral and bookends my blonde hair and is my alternative to a purely white sneaker.

I only have my dainty low profile white sneakers with the tiny embroidered white flowers on, since 2015. Machine washable. When I consider others, Merchant 1948 have a nice looking brand called Deuce. Some of those have zips as well as laces, for easier on-off.
I think metallic boots would be great for you if you can find some. My Minx Chelsea boots are black with a slightly metallic almost bluish sheen on the top. Versatile.

Not much to say except to get a different sneaker profile to what you have already. Different profiles look better with different pant leg shapes. For me this can be more important than colour choice when wanting to get outfit proportions right. This really applies only if you have a variety of pants styles in you closet of course. Btw I have never jumped on the white sneaker train. I have old Blush Puma gum soles that are as versatile as white for me. Like DEE white footwear always seems a bit too much on me.

Since I sense you are a tiny bit bored with your white sneakers I would go with.a different profile - maybe low with a gum sole, again as Angie suggested .

I vote caramel or cream boots for you -- they'd work well in your closet!

I still have a pair of low profile white sneakers...but in all honesty, I have not been wearing them. That is partly because I wear, instead, low profile white oxfords in the summer. And also, my silver sneakers, which are a bit chunkier.

I also have a red pair, older, that I tend to wear in spring. And a platform oxford in navy, also mainly a spring and fall item for me.

I think there is something like a fatigue from white sneakers (maybe only in me?)
If I was looking for sneakers, I would buy a low profile pair in suede or in a combination of materials, in animal print or metallic.

Sal, I vote caramel or cream boots for you! And white or caramel sneakers. White with gum soles covers both colours.

I see lots of slim, low profile sneakers on offer here in the US. That's the BIG trend. Across a million colours! Hybrids too. AND I see the chunky variety on offer because it sells well. I like the look of the sneaker mules :)

To answer your question: I am down to three pairs - and two really. (The ECCO's are for PT only - so I consider those gear).

I wear slim Paul Green slip-ons, and iconic LEATHER Converse hi-tops with fleece lining. White and cream. That's plenty of sneakers for me! Unless I find a cute blush pink pair without laces. But not a priority.

These are the current sneakers in my collection that are not for athletic wear. I usually wear them with joggers or jeans. The white are my most versatile sneakers and worn year round. The black Ecco slip on are great for business casual. The Taos seafoam green are fun for summer with shorts and cropped jeans.

Thanks cat2! I like the gum sole, Americana and slim fit ones here.

I think the satin and the mules will be a pass - not practical for me. But they are super fun.

I am totally not a sneaker girl, so am attracting a link to an article on what is current. It looks like there are some fun styles.

Hi all,

I am hoping to get two new pairs of footwear this winter (I am in NZ so it is late summer here now). Shoes and boots are expensive here but I tend to get really good wear as I look after them, buy styles that I don't tire of quickly and buy decent quality.

1) Dressy flat/low heel boots that are walkable - similar to the silhouette of the last three finds. What colour should I go for - black, caramel or cream or metallic? I want to wear them for dressy work and nights out where I walk (theatre, dinner etc)

2) New sneakers or flats - something to complement my current collection.

I feel as though one pair should be white/off white and one pair black or camel or caramel?

For about 15 years I have always had a pair of white sneakers - from canvas converse to leather. They have all worn out and been replaced.... at one stage I had two pairs.

My current pair have worn out and I am evaluating whether to get another pair or not. I feel as though they are an essential for me, but possibly less than they were two years ago.

Casual (as opposed to exercise) sneakers for me are mostly worn in autumn, winter and spring. I also wear them to work as I mostly need to wear covered shoes.

I have had to get rid of a few shoes over the last six months - some due to comfort, and a few have worn out entirely.

The first nine finds are my autumn/winter options. The black and white platform sneakers and navy boots are both fairly well worn now. In addition I have five "gear" options of which three occasionally get worn for more casual days (identical black and white Brooks Ghost Max, and some multicoloured Scarpa)

But back to the original question-

Are you still wearing white sneakers and if so what style? Retro, converse, platform, or other?

And ideas are welcome about what new additions I should make!!
