Sorry, Tanya...it stinks when everything hits at once especially when you had made up your mind so many times. Sometimes it just helps to vent. Maybe you'll find something at the mall this weekend

Maya, those great shorts look great on the model!

Patience, I hope that you are right and that the J Brand in 26 will work. I don't mind if they are snug in the thigh since I'll be covering that part with tunics anyway.

Nicole, I'm feeling better now. It's just that everything happened in the single day: I got the J Brand skinnies and they did not fit, the white clamdiggers were sold out and the J Crew ones are gone in my size. I do have plenty of other things to wear, I just really wanted white skinnies to wear with all those tunics I got few weeks ago since the weather here is finally nice.

Ana, thanks for understanding. I do already have dark denim clamdiggers I posted photos of, but they are Levi's , not J Crew. It turns out that they do grow with wear so they are not worth duplicating, I'll have to wash them after every wear.

I am finally going to that big Natick mall this Sunday. Maybe I'll find some white clamdiggers. Otherwise, that's it since I plan to let my 3 month shopping ban kick in immediately after that trip!

LOL NIcole! Look at the gray shorts! THOSE are on a real person. If you click to see multiple views, you can see her from the side and her side profile is somewhat similar to mine. My body image isn't THAT bad.

I totally understand your frustration. It's hard when you think you have found the perfect thing and then it gets sold out before you can buy it. That happens to me when I find something I don't like shopping for, like handbags. I found the perfect handbag, but everywhere was sold out. So I found it on ebay and bid on it and everything was going great, and then someone sniped it from me at the last minute! Grr.....I was so disappointed. It's STILL the perfect bag, in the perfect color, and I can't find it anywhere. Oh well. Something will come along that will be good. I hope you get the J. Brand jeans. I agree with Patience that the dark denim clamdiggers from J. Crew are stretchier or bigger somehow, because I had the exact same problem with the white ones that she had. I bought 28s in the dark denim ones, but could barely button the white 28s, even while sucking in. If you go for the white, I'd go up a size. Do you already have the dark denim ones? I can't remember. I think you do, and they look great. Have you thought about duplicating those instead?

Maya, that model was a plastic maniquin with no hip or bum to speak of! But i hope they fit and are the right length--since that button detailing is going to make shortening them a PIA.

Tanya, Please don't let a pair of pants, or lack there of, bum you out so much. It's not worth it. You have not found the right ones yet, but you have plenty of other things to wear in the meantime!

Tanya, do not despair! You'll find what you want. I also like the J Brand cigarette style with 14" opening. (I just tried the pencil for fun and they are just too tight at the knee.) It's interesting what you found in your sizing. I think the dark wash jcrew clamdiggers are a lot stretchier than the other colors because the 26 is very comfy for me in the dark wash but the white was quite tight and stiff. They do ease up with wear though. I also have Jbrand in 26 and these work for me too although they are quite snug through the thigh. I bet these will work for you.

Thanks for the support Maya! I like those white capris you have ordered, i hope that they work out for you. I am peronally looking for thicker denim material.

On the white skinnies question, I have reordered the J Brand's in 26, so I'll see. They are really straight leg as I've said. I already have a cream bootcut Paige pair for normal tops (the jeans need hemming hence I haven't worn them yet), but I wanted skinnies for that whole bunch of shirdresses I recently got.

I also had the same experience with the matchsticks, Tanya. You might be comforted to know that they don't stretch all that much, so I have to wear mine with a very long top. I can actually feel the waistband dropping as i walk, which is very uncomfortable.

I got these along with my shoe purchases. I don't know if the leg opening is narrow enough, but for $27 I was willing to give it a try.

http://www.6pm.com/n/p/p/7302590/c/92579.html

The model in the picture has a pretty curvy bum and thighs, so I hold out some hope.

Are you set on white skinnies? I have white straight leg pants but I think I would have preferred bootcuts instead. I don't care what anyone says, white definitely does make you look a bit wider than a dark wash or black, so I think I would have preferred the balancing properties of a bootcut jean.

Hi all, I've been having some bad luck with these recently, so here's a long complaint:

My J Brand 14" white skinnies have finally arrived today. They are beautiful, but huge ( I got 27)! I am exchanging them for 26, but I won't have them in another ten days For Shiny&Ana, if you were considering getting them in that dark denim color I posted, please know that they run big, so if you are beteween sizes, definetly get the smaller one. Oh, and they are more of a traight leg than skinny, which I like, but you may not. The inseam is pretty long as well, so I'll have to hem them when I get the 26.

Now to the clamdiggers: l really wanted the J Crew ones in citron or grey, so I went to the store this past weekend ( I've already mentioned this somewhere) and tried them on. 26 were tight and I didn't know if and how much they would stretch, 27 too large so I passed.

I found this white pair online so decided to get them instead:
http://www.designsbystephene.c....._white.cfm
I ordered the 27 and on Tuesday I found a message on my cell asking me to call back to confirm something before they can process my order. I called them yesterday and they were wondering if my shipping address was personal or business! They promised they would ship them the same day. Well, today I got the email that in the meantime they have sold out ! I am so angry, but nothing I can do about it.

I have aalso noticed today that the J Crew ones went on further sale ($30) with extra 20% off. For that price, I decided to take a risk and get the 26, so if they don't stretch I would wear them exclusively under long tunics. Well , it turned out they have every possible color/combo size other than 26 in grey and citron! They are sold out as well. I am so bummed.

Sorry for the long complaint, I really hope that the J Brand in 26 will work and hopefully I can find some other white/citron clamdiggers. This all put me in a really bad mood today.
