It has a modern equestrian vibe to it… not old-fashioned at all. I, too, am from the NYC "burbs" (now living in CT) and do not think that the bag is too casual for excursions into the city. You see all kinds of bags there these days from ultracasual backpacks to high end luxury pieces. My only concern is that a white bag can easily get dirty. NYC can be a bit grubby. I almost never wear white footwear or handbags when visiting there. Also I've started wearing cross-body bags like that recently and find that some of them are too narrow to hold wallet, sunglasses, reading glasses, iPhone etc...but this is one looks deep enough. Sounds like it will got with your outfits very well. It took me a long time to find this one, which is actually a sort of pebbled, grayish white, nice soft leather with the silver hardware I much prefer. My summer uniform these days is white or black bottoms (mostly white jeans and black crops) and quirky tees and sandals. I hope to liven this up a bit with the flowered leather sandals I have on order. But I can't decide about the purse. I live in the New York suburbs, but I do go into the city a couple of times a week for fun stuff. The bag would definitely fit in locally, but is it too casual for NYC? Is it too old-fashioned, even for an old girl like me? Does it look classy enough? What say you, fabbers? </p>
