Looks like you are squared away, but yes, I agree. Go with the larger size and a tailor.

Can't wait to see the results. That dress is so pretty on you!

Thank you, Ruthe. I bought the larger size, as I agree that linen by it's nature looks best worn in looser fits. I will wash the dress on gentle cycle (my washing machine is capable of dealing with any delicate fiber), and line dry. The dress will hopefully become a staple in my Summer wardrobe for several seasons - that's my intention with it.

I would go with the larger size Ingunn. Linen is comprised of long fibers found in the stalk of the flax plant. These fibers are quite stiff. Once they bend, they stay bent, and the result is linen's trademark wrinkles. Linen shirts and pants can be machine-washed in a gentle cycle in warm water, or preferably, hand-washed or dry-cleaned. Repeated hand or machine washings make linen soft, eventually reducing the wrinkles, while dry cleaning keeps it crisp and new-looking. Once you're done hand- or machine-washing, air-dry the linen garment. It's in linen's best interest to never see the inside of a dryer. Ideally, you should let the garment air-dry. If you're ironing linen, do so on a high setting, while the garment is still damp. The dampness guards against burning the linen; the fabric dries quite fast. Iron first on the inside of the garment to remove wrinkles, and then on the outside to create a nice sheen.
I personally hand wash all my linen clothes except for my blazer. Sorry this is so long. Enjoy your dress!

I can already see the horizontal crease lines forming across your lower half, with just trying the dress on. It looks lovely but linen is a deal breaker for me on bottoms. I have a super poison eye for it.

Out if the two sizes, I prefer the larger, if you can tailor it.. Does the tag say hand wash or dry clean? If dry clean, yes, the dress will shrink. Linen shrinks both in length and width. not just one way.

I actually like this shape on you because it doesn't taper in so it's a soft straight line, it's a classic shape but I liked it larger because the top fits correctly and doesn't pull like the smaller one.

I hate to be a downer but I'm not sure about the line of this dress either Ingunn. And yes, linen will shrink. It's basically cotton. I'm not a dress girl but I've seen you in other shapes that I think suit you better.

Gorgeous dress, but I find myself wishing it was an A-line (which you wear so well). Are you wedded to the idea of a sheath dress? If so I think buying the larger one and tailoring it down is the way to go.

It can shrink a little. I think you'd be better getting the larger one and tailoring it to fit you.

Looks better as is, but a tad tight armholes and around hips. Does linen shrink?
