I refuse to wear a cami in the summer, and, if my linen shirt shows a flash of a pretty bra, so be it. I see plenty of white linen that's opaque in the fabric stores. It's just very thick and dense, and while it would work out fine for trousers (it's not THAT thick!), usually it's at $20-30 a yard. Most trousers take 2 1/2 yards of fabric, so that's getting quite costly for the manufacturer.
