I like 1 and 6 best, agreeing with Karen except that I like 6 better than 5. Maybe because the jacket adds a larger proportion of dark, breaking up the white.

I like the *proportions* in 4, just not the contrast of materials. So a dress with similar outline but in heavier fabric would likely work, to my eye.

Before YLF, when I had never heard of high-vamp or low-vamp, and would have thought those terms were either to do with vampires or a typo for high-camp, I remember complaining that certain shoe styles "cut off my legs". And a woman in a shoe-shop was intrigued and said "hang on, cut off your legs?-what do you mean?" I think I must have read something in a fashion magazine. But I could see myself that there was something off about some of my winter shoes or booties at the time, they seemed leg stumpifying. I now understand that they had a very high vamp. I feel there is an element of that happening here. I think if you understand that you can make your choice. I find these a bit heavy for my personal taste for summer. I LOVE your dress x

You look great! I like these sandals on you but I understand exactly how you feel. It is a problem with these high vamp styles. However, I love the way they look in 1, 5, and 7!

Karen, you have a point.
MFF, thank you!

I realize the title to this post is misleading. I don't mean to complain about the color of my legs. But just wondering if the gladiator style - in a neutral cognac - suits them.

Thank you! Outfit 4 is definitively eliminated. I will keep wearing this dress as a smarter look.
Kkards, I think it's because pics 2 and 4 show an a-line dress.
JAileen, thank you! I don't think white legs are to be hidden, au contraire. In my case, I love the color of my legs because, luckily, it matches the rest of me (lol). May you have a wonderful trip and show off these light gams!
Firecracker, your booties are very nice and also very current. You open my eyes about the dominant color of the outfit the ankle footwear is worn with. I had never thought about this.
Janet I'd love to see you wear your white gladiators. I bet you look stunning in them.
Emily, what an insightful point you make. Will certainly take it in consideration!

My favorites are 1 and 5. I think it is because they echo colors in those outfits. I think they would also look great with cropped pants.

Outfits #1,5,6 are my faves. I've been a slow-adopter of the bootie look. So, to my kind-of conventional eye, they look best when there is a heavier or grounding element like the denim skirt or cognac belt.

I have the same ambivalence about gladiator styles on me! Even low-contrast ones like the white ones I got a few years ago.

I like them in 1 and 5 the best.

They are cute, and I really like them on you. I especially like 1 and 7 here. The sandals are a great color and bookend your hair nicely, and I like your matching the belt in 5 and 6--also very good looks, to me. I also like #2. I think the only one that makes me hesitate is 4. I hear you on the ambivalence about this style, because I feel the same way about my new sandal-booties (the Munros below in Finds). For me, I find I like them better with darker outfits. I have other booties with a similar vamp (the Paul Greens) that are lighter and I like them with light outfits, I think because they are lower contrast with my skin.
I will add, I think the camera angle is shortening your legs more than they would look IRL.

I'm headed for a warm climate and my legs are very pasty looking. That's the new sign of health.

I think your sandals look great with all but #4. I think it would look better with something daintier. BTW, I love the dress. Gorgeous!

I quite like them....but to my eye, they are more successful with some outfis and work less well with others....to me, #1, #5, #6, work really well. We're as, to me, #2 or #4 are less successful . Wish I could explain why, but it's just a visual reaction.

I got these gladiators from Rockport last week. They suit my bunion, feel very comfortable, but do they suit my legs?

I can still return them.

One day I try them on and find them fashion forward and fun. The next, I find they make my legs look stumpy. Here I tried them with some summer outfits.

Here are some summer outfits with them. What do you think?

Thank you for your input!
