All hail to you "eBay Queen" :)

I am no help re the white jeans search as my J. Crew factory ones are just about done and the fabric in the J. Crew I checked out was so thin and stretchy in comparison to my old favourites. Plus they were not white but more ecru. I shall watch this thread with interest.

Btw, I have a pair of white boot cuts (BR) and haven't worn them in ages. Not feeling them right now. Hope the KUT's work out!

I have the Old Navy Sweetheart's that Neelie suggested. This year's batch seems to be better quality than years past. I'd recommend them if you think you just need a short term fix.

I like the Old Navy Sweetheart cut. They call them skinny, but they are in between skinny and straight leg to me, and a nice mid rise with some stretch. The best part is you can order multiple sizes on line and try them at home, then return whatever doesn't work at the store. They have a white with a hint of cream in if, which I like better than pure stark white in winter.

Good luck.

Well, I am not really sure what my regular size is, in jeans, to be honest! Because I have jeans in 3 different sizes from different companies and they all seem to fit -- although the fit differs, of course. But then the cut differs, too.

And I've found that even the same manufacturer's jeans in the same style can differ. For example, I have a pair of dark wash J. Crew toothpicks that I really like a lot. They have some poly in them but they feel really crisp. I "sized up" in them and got just a bit of ease, so they fit me more like cigarette jeans than skin tight skinnies. Well, I ordered the same jean in the same size in an ecru and it was AWFUL - this one was in that super soft stretchy fabric and I looked ridiculous in it -- it was like leggings, but baggy elephant skin leggings. Yuck.

What I can say is that I got the Kut Dianas in my regular size for GAP skinnies (2) and they fit me fine. Some people had suggested sizing down, others had suggested sizing up (because they are white) but in the end I was glad I went with what I got. They are a nice substantial fabric with a tiny bit of stretch -- 98% cotton, I believe -- and not lightweight or legging-like.

ETA: They fit me snugly at the waist/ hip (I couldn't size down or I would not be able to do them up on my hipbone) but there is a small amount of room elsewhere. I also like that they are not completely calf-sucking.

Shannon, I was going to suggest Kuts; they are my favorite white jean, and an Angie pick. Kuts do run big, but I liked the larger of my two sizes for my white pair, just because they are white.

Shannon, would you still describe your (changing!) shape as apple with secondary rectangle? Very important info for jeans suggestions.

I'm IT with secondary apple and I have the AG Stilts that Angie also has. It surprised me that they looked good on both of us, since Angie has a decidedly more curvy shape than I do (of course, almost everyone does!). My husband loves the way that the AGs look on me. They are cut just a smidge towards a curvier body shape than mine. I don't find the rise particularly short, honestly.

FWIW, I have both skinnies (AG) and bootcuts (Gap). So you don't have to decide. ;)

If I were looking for a transition jean that I might be swapping out in the next year, I'd look at Gap or Old Navy or American Eagle (but AE only has white jeggings right now, which I don't think is what you are going for). I also had the Kut Diana and liked them a lot but found the sizing hard to predict.

Thanks for the fab suggestions ladies!

Suz - you know I've commented before how much I love those Kut Diana's on you. I just checked on eBay and lo and behold, there is one pair, in what I think to be my current size, new with tags, with return policy and all. I read some reviews that said to size down as they are generous and other reviews that said they are TTS. What is your experience?

I wonder if you could find Kut Diana skinnies on ebay. I don't think they're available any more in the white but I could be wrong. That's what I have and while they do bag out a bit, I find they bag in a good way, if that makes sense.

I have not had much of a bag out issue. A little bit around the knees (I expect this of all pants as I sit all day long), but these are a straight leg versus skinny jean, so you have to be looking to notice.

I have 4 pair of white trousers from them Ralph Lauren, 2 from Lauren Ralph Lauren and 2 pair from Ralph Lauren Jeans. The jeans version was 5% spandex and the Lauren version were 2%. You might have better luck with the Lauren version.

I love my Levi's curve id white jeans - I have both bootcut and straight leg versions. Not see through, no bagging. The classic rise is mid rise and the modern rise is low (I wear the bold curve classic rise, but the Levi's website helps you figure out your fit). Unfortunately, I don't see the white on the Levi's site right now. There are other stores that carry Levis - Macy's is one I can think of off the top of my head.

Well both sadly and happily, none of my white jeans fit anymore (not the Jessica Simpson sized up skinnies nor the eBay True Religion Brianna's). I have now come to realize that my wardrobe absolutely must have a pair of white jeans in it and I'm wanting to wear them all year round.

So...would love your recommendations on brands I should look at? I like a mid rise, no embellishment and no flap pockets on the back. I would like a fairly sleek pair but am not sure whether to go with skinnies so I can tuck into boots during the snow and mush, or bootcuts because I love the way they look on my short legs - they make me feel tall - lol!

Help?
