Isn't it amazing how looking at photos is so much more objective than looking in the mirror? I have found it very helpful in judging whether an outfit or item of clothing is flattering or unflattering (or, in my case, just how unflattering it is!).

Yep, and I may still order those J Brands, because as i was cleaning yesterday, I found the notes from my last white jean excursion, that listed the two brands & styles I liked but weren't in my size. One was Jbrand, style 818.

I'm going to take the weekend to think about it... and may hit the NJC to see if they have a new shipment in.

Weather is nice enough for capris today - YEAH!

Shiny, I'm glad you found a pair that's a keeper. I'm sorry that Joe's didn't work out for you. Good that you know that you like the way Ernest Sewn fits you, you should try them later in darker wash!

Yesterday, I had DH take photos of me in the various white jeans I ordered online. I was going to post here for everyone's opinion of which to keep, but for some reason I feel weirded out by that idea (probably because I'm using flickr which has no password capability)!!

Anyway, the photos were quite helpful for making the final determinations, and I think I am only going to keep the Citizens Ambers. These are the same exact bootcut jeans I already own, except in white. Because of the 8-inch rise, I won't be able to wear them with anything except tops that don't cling at the midsection, but I've already got a pair of dressy white slacks that will work for more form-fitting tops.

The Joe's are nice (and very comfy) with a perfect rise, but looking at the photos they do NOTHING for my butt... my analysis: the pockets are too large, have detailing on them, and there is too much distance between the pockets, which makes my butt look much wider than it is.

As for the Ernest Sewn jeans, I think they are going back too. They actually make my rear view look pretty darn good... better than any jeans ever. So it is tempting to keep them, but I just don't like the wash - it's the kind with strategic fading, and I don't care for that at all. However I will definetly be checking out other washes and styles in this brand. It may turn out to be my "Holy Grail of Jeans."
