I go one size down for this brand. I really like their jeans, they have a decent weight and don't bag out with wear. My recent white one's are not super sheer, you don't even see the front pockets which is a nice change from most white jeans which are always a bit sheer. I put their quality on par with BR and AT.

I have only one item from them - a pair of black pointe pants. I had to go down 2 sizes to fit (!) but really love the pants and have been very pleased with the quality. I will shop there again.

I used to work at WHBM when I was finishing up with grad school. The employee discount helped me build my first professional wardrobe. A lot of the pieces I bought back then have held up for quite a few years. I haven't been there recently though. Mostly because I've been trying to add a bit more color into my look.

As for sales, new product is shipped to stores 5 days a week. Some items won't even be in the store two weeks before they're moved to the sale rack. Depending on the size of the store, they may only get 1-2 size runs of an item.

Ha -- the separates I wore when I got married were purchased at WHBM a couple of hours before the ceremony. (Low maintenance brides of America, unite.) Sizing does run a tad large -- if you're sometimes one size and sometimes another, go with the smaller size at WHBM.

They have some great basics like their seamless tanks/camis. I love those in black because their version is a synthetic fabric with a sheen and a true, deep blackness that you don't get with cotton. They don't grey out in the wash and the fabric looks dressier than a cotton cami.

I would say quality is not quite up to the old Ann Taylor but better than the new Ann Taylor.

I liked WHBM a lot for awhile, but then I got tired of almost everything having silver trim on it (most of my jewelry is gold). Definitely vanity sizing there. I think their clothes are better suited to warm climates. There's rarely anything warm. I like their print cardigans but I can't wear them in the winter because I freeze. Sometimes I wonder who their target customer is, and I think: real estate agent in Florida.

I'm a bit mixed on WHBM. I think the quality is good, but since neither white nor black are my best colours, I struggle to find things to suit. For several seasons there, I thought their clothes were a bit too "bling-y", but I think I might like that more now--my tastes have changed and their stock might have as well.

Good luck with it!

I love WHBM. Most of their pants fit me perfectly, and they wear great. I've also bought a few dresses there that I love. They do have sales, but I find sale sizes very limited. If you're a 2 or a 12 you'll have some luck at the in-store sales. I have to say, I don't mind paying full price for pants that fit me as well as their's do. They mail coupons to loyalty card holders, plus give 5% off on every purchase.

Although they're owned by Chico's, they're younger and more stylish/fitted.

I think whbm is definitely worth browsing through. They often have fun pieces and then quality is decent, like AT level. Last season they had a lot of prints that I liked (romantic florals and the like).

I have to say though that at my store at least, the sales associates are SO pushy. I've heard that said of their SAs in general too so I wonder if that's how they're trained. It kind of turns me off of shopping there in person.

I purchased this dress at the WHBM outlet in Kenosha about a year ago. I also have a great black peplum jacket from the outlet. I would compare the quality to Ann Taylor, and the style to a slightly more classic, slightly younger Chico's. I don't go there often, particularly since I've been on a "black diet" in the last few years.

I get one or 2 items most every year. They run a limited color palette and have an "in" color added each season or year, so it's great if that's one of your colors. Lot of synthetic tops, but some silk.

One problem, depending on how you look at it, is they have a kind of signature design of prominent bright silver snaps or buttons on a lot of things and have run that for several years in a row, so they can look the same, or, hey, look at me, I'm from WH/BM. I liked some of the jackets to go with skirts, but now some look too young for me, have to watch the ruffles and trims, and most are short-waisted for me.

Not nearly as corporate as AT, and very little wool or wool blends--items are either casual or dressy casual or sort of dressy-business, and tend to have a bit of bling, but I got a tailored skirt, have found some pants. They have a sort of curvy pant fit with bootcut leg--forget the name--that's worked for me in one or 2 items, in neutrals for work. A lot of items are good for smart casual, holiday, evening--featuring some velvet, sparkle, lurex but not super formal.

It's a good retail stone to overturn, though as I find a good deal here and there. They do put stuff on sale.

I'm a crazy WHBM fan--discovered it last year and went to town on their ink blue collection, and bought some pieces in cream, black and red as well. I'd say a significant portion of my new post-YLF wardrobe is from there (Nordstrom is tops, but WHBM is second and Anthro, H&M & Gap tied for third).

Some examples:
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ack-market
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-and-cardi
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-bow-pumps

DH even got in on the action and picked a trench coat out for me there:
http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ack-trench
I've even copied entire looks from their catalog:
http://goldenpig.lookfab.com/p.....isian-chic

I'd say it's replaced Ann Taylor/Banana Republic for me (most of my pre-YLF clothes were from AT/BR but haven't been to AT in ages). I think they're pretty comparable to those stores in terms of frequency of sales and quality of clothes. I haven't been to WHBM in a while due to the pregnancy, but DH got me a gift card from WHBM for Christmas so I'm waiting till after the baby to have another look around. I love their jewelry collection too, and have a purse from there as well. They have a great online sale section and they run frequent sales/coupons (I joined their frequent buyer club), but definitely if there's something you like in your size, buy right away. Their return policy is more restrictive than Nordstrom though, so I do still tend to shop at Nordie's when I can.

Umm...I just have a blouse from them and I really like it. I don't know much about the brand other than they seem to cut more for a slight petite to average frame. The waist seams always look about out of place on me, but I do have that issue with j crew too. They do a lot of 3/4 sleeves and those look horrid on me as well.

Quality wise, the shirt has held well. I think it is similar to LOFT.

WHBM clothes are about the middle of the road when it comes to quality. They are not couture quality, but they are significantly better made than H&M clothes generally are, for instance. I go there for fun and trendy pieces. They have really great sales, but the popular items sell out very quickly, so if you see something you like, I'd suggest buying it right away.

Thistle, I don't know about the sales frequency or sell out factor, I've only popped in there a couple of times myself. I did find a wonderful chanel-esque cream jacket that fit me perfectly (even though it's not petite and I have short arms, looks like it was intended to have 3/4 sleeves) and I bought it with a 15% off coupon. The quality on this is wonderful. From looking at the website, it seems that the full price items that were out around Christmastime are on sale at 50% off or more, but sizes seem to be pretty well stocked on the sale items. I don't know if this is the case in the actual stores as well. Hope this helps

I usually go there at the end of the season and clean up. Admittedly they do run out of popular items. I am still looking for their diagonal glen plaid skirt from last fall. The quality is pretty good. They definitely have vanity sizing and their clothes are VERY forgiving especially their jackets and jeans. I love their jewelry and accessories. I think their shoes are exceptionally well made, because they fit well and they are very comfortable. (I have wide feet -- therefore hard to fit feet.)

I recently "discovered" White House Black Market.,I know, I don't get out much!

I have seen others mention that brand in their WiWs so I thought I would ask about them. What do you think of the quality of their clothing? Are they like certain mall stores (looking at you Ann Taylor) where you know everything is going on sale shortly, or are they more like Nordstrom's where a lot sells out and never makes it sale?
