It turns out some of the dresses I had on hand didn’t look right to my eye anymore. I think this one would get more use, as this Anthro dress would be strictly for weekends or date nights. If I can choose two other dresses to purge, I can have the BR dress. It probably does look better than a couple of dresses I could choose from my closet, so there's that. Angie asked great questions to consider when buying any jacket. It sounds like you feel this one will work for you. I have denim jackets in smaller, cropped sizes and a similar wash in a larger, longer more roomy size. I tend to wear the smaller short ones with dresses and skirts and the longer, bigger ones with pants. This summer has been better because I have been pickier, and I did purge many old ones that no longer looked good. If I want the dress, I’d probably have to return the one from Anthro. This one has more work wearability, so point in its favor. </p> <p> As to the jacket, I actually have very few jackets that I am able to layer over sleeves during any season. I am used to it. The purpose for this is to be a topper for sleeveless items while I’m at the office and in the evening during the summer. Also, I tried on enough bright white wedding dresses back in the day to know it makes me look ill when it’s near my face. White that is even just slightly off-white is a vast improvement. Bright white is one of the few colors I feel I can’t wear, so I don’t feel too bad about it, especially because I can wear things in the same family. :)</p> <p>That area of my upper hips is a sensitive issue for me. I don’t mind the size (yay curves) but am always afraid of looking too va-va-voom to be comfortable. I wanted some idea of how the jacket would look with a dress, which is what I grabbed it for, and it did help.
