If you do stain it and can't get the stain out, at least the article of clothing got worn. My little ones are 2, 4 yrs old and since joining YLF last year I have become unfearful of white, yes they would have been 1 and 3 last spring when i decided to give it a whirl. I have two pair of white jeans, white shorts, a white twill jacket and a white leather jacket. None of these items were partcularly expensive although I love them and would be bummed to have to find replacements that fit just so again I just figure that it is only clothes and nearly every stain we have encountered so far (except for two on the back pocket of one of the jeans) i just stain treat and wash out. I do hang dry (not tumble dry)these items so I have a second chance at treating any stains that dont come out the first time. In the summer it's really my go to color and I wear a lot of white bottoms and black /navy/red tops , feels very nautical/fresh to my eyes. Regarding the TOM problem, i overcome my fear, because really i never stained my jeans or black pants, and I'm mostly prepared. So why bother? I have a pair of white denim shorts I wear ALL THE TIME in summer and had no problems with them. Generally i put oxygen based cleaner with most loads of whites, just to keep them bright. My mother, ( a mother of two) wore white very often when we were kids and she still does. I remember she had tons of white tops. She just sewed herself last summer a white skirt with floral piping. Wears it all the time. Why not?<br /> Myself I just looked over my clothes inventory and apparently i am a white junkie : have white jeans, white denim shorts, white wideleg cotton dress pants, white linen pants ( for the beach), cream skinny pants<br /> white denim skirt,<br /> white cotton dress, 1 lined winter white dress , white flowy cocktail dress, , 1 winter sweater dress<br /> 2 white tops , 3 identical white v-neck t-shirts,1 white bolero , 4 white button downs shirts<br /> white cotton blazer, 1 white dressy short sleeve cropped blazer,<br /> 1 white winter coat<br /> After you realize your clothes don't wear you, and you own them and whatever you feel freer to wear white. Reason 1 is that I am too worried to wear them during that TOM - so that automatically cuts out a quarter of the time.</p> <p>Until recently I have also not worn them to BBQs because I was scared I'd stain them and that cuts out a fair proportion of summer social events. But I have decided to risk it now!</p> <p>And of course as a MOTG with young kids, I take them off the minute I get home!</p> <p>These garments were not expensive - none more than $20 but I don't feel they are getting that much wear.</p> <p>I am feeling very daring right now. Decided to put them on at 12pm, and wear them before I pick the kids up AT HOME by myself (as well as for the pickup)</p> <p>Do any of you self restrict your wearing of white? </p>
