Normal length is 100% in style and I have a closet full of shirts like that. I am never giving up classic button downs!

Are you opposed to using a belt?

I think that the knitwear which you layer over the shirt shouldn't be skin tight either.

Kari, thanks so much for suggesting that I turn up the cuffs, what a huge difference that made! Also, I tried tucking the tails into my pants and the shirt stayed put much better. Rute and Taylor, thanks so much for your help!

I think the standard length white button down shirt never goes out of style! In addition, this season, the tunic button down shirt is in every store.
I agree with the ladies, at least for me it has to be fitted at the waist but I haven't found the perfect one yet!

I hope not, as I just invested in one this year and plan to wear it to death!

I echo Taylor's comment about making sure that it fits well, especially around the waist - that's where I felt lumpy before. I also like that when I wear my particular white shirt, which is one of the Carissa Rose shirts, it has hook-and-eye closures rather than buttons, which eliminates gaping and bunching that I get from buttons.

I used to struggle with the arms bunching up, but what's helped me is to turn back the cuffs on my shirt to "lock" the outer layer (usually a cardigan, or perhaps a thin sweater) in place so it won't shift around.

I am no expert here, but for layering, I think they must be VERY fitted , that works best for me. Eliminates the lumpy effect.

Is the standard length white button down shirt still in style? Why does it look lumpy when it is layered?

Has it been replaced by the tunic length?
