I start to think maybe some places measure right up against the heel itself (instead of straight down) and so include the angle and that makes extra length. I'd measure straight down from the top of the heel - after all, that's what my foot is going to feel. Moved on to boots. Neither of these have I found a dependable heel measurement on yet. If either comes in at 3" or lower, I'm in. So, heel height being equal, which would you choose for a casual, slightly rugged boot for my Tahoe fall/winter? Neither one is leather, they are both fabric.
