Agrees on the second ... Both are lovely but that one looks dressier vs. Corporate. Enjoy the wedding!

I like second option for an event, number one is more office-feel, at least on the pictures. I would also wear not black top under, smth lighter. wedding is happy place.

I think I like the 2nd for a wedding. It has a softer less business-like look and even though it's boxy I think you look great. An outfit doesn't need to be form fitting to highlight your figure in a flattering way. This is a great example.

I understand what you mean about the Lanai feeling a bit less "daytime business." I'd wear that, for that reason. Both look good.

In the photos I don't see much difference. Wear what you feel best and most confident wearing.

Barring any last minute changes, I'll be wearing a suit to a wedding tomorrow and was wondering which one is more appropriate. Photo #1 is a Smythe jacket paired with J. Crew pants. They're not exactly the same shade of black or the sam texture, but they're comparable. Photo #2, with its abysmal lighting, is a Theory lanai wool jacket with matching wool pants. I'm wearing a black silk blouse here, but a black tank or a button-up collarless white cotton/nylon blouse are also options. I like the cut of 1, but feel that 2 is more appropriate for a wedding because it appears less bulky and businessy. Thoughts?

ETA: Retook a photo of 2 with the same top as 1.
