I'm not sure there's a side tag rule either. I cut out all my neckline tags and constantly face this problem. Sometimes I go by the direction the side tag is sewn, believing that they are sewn to lie naturally towards/against the back of a garment, not the front. But I like Firecracker's recommendation: whatever works best.

I would wear it whichever way worked best with the outfit. I love spaghetti strap tanks that can be worn either way.

Well I just looked at a stretchy cami vest of mine and the straps are closer together at the back.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking the same thing as you Diane however as its stretchy can be hard to tell. This is not it but get the idea as it has that curved neckline but not super curved.

http://images.dancewearsolutio.....ml2703.jpg

When you have the top on and the straps are closer together one way in the front than the other does that tell you anything?

Thanks.

I'm not sure my tags are always on the same side. With a spaghetti strap top it should be obvious which is the front and back. The back where the straps are attached is always dead straight across whereas the front is often scooped down a little, to create a curved neckline across your chest.

I have some new tops that I honestly can't tell which is the front and which is the back. Fabric tag is in the side seam. When there is no tag in the back of the outfit is there a particular way go have the tag located on a side go to assure its on right? So in this case, when on, should the tag be on the right or left side of the body? or is there no rule? in this case the top is a spaghetti strap tank.

Thanks
