Thanks for your input, everyone! Unfortunately I don't have a nice shorter length jacket or cardigan. Jackets have been hard for me to find. Another thing to put on the wish list, I suppose!

In the end I carried the green bag and brought a bright yellow silk pashmina, plus a lightweight black trench coat. As it happened the weather wasn't as bad as I was expecting and we didn't get rained on at all!

I really like the black floral dress with any of the bags in 7, although I might choose the red one. That dress is great on you! I am not sure about the blazer over the dress though. Is there another option?

I think you look amazing in both dresses, but I have a slight preference for the sheath, possibly because I prefer the shorter length on you. And also you have a huge smile on your face so I can tell you feel more confident in the sheath!

I vote for the red clutch -- I agree with the others who have said it needn't match. That clutch is adorable and perfect for a wedding.

I'd wear a wrap or a cardigan if you have it. If not, go without, and if it gets chilly, borrow your DH's suit jacket -- toss it over your shoulders, or wear it with scrunched/rolled up sleeves. That's what I do... (I also stuff any excess items that don't fit in my clutch in DH's pockets).

The earrings are gorgeous.

Just chiming in to say that I agree with everyone else - the dress in 3-4 looks fab. Also like the turquoise bag with it, and would choose the red clutch as a second choice if you didn't like the turquoise - but the turquoise works beautifully here.

The black jacket is gorgeous, but maybe not the best with this particular dress. I'm guessing it's for reasons already articulated here in this thread - navigating jacket length with dresses is as picky as trying to get PPL with pants, or picking the right length top to pair with a skirt, versus pants. Personally, I would choose some sort of wrap with this dress - a shawl type of thing instead of the black jacket. Don't get me wrong - the black jacket is fabulous on you, it's just that the length of it is sort of obscuring the fabness of the dress, if that makes sense.

The dress in 3/4 is fabulous on you, and you have lots of great clutches/bags and accessories to choose from. Looking forward to hearing back what you ended up choosing and how it all went. Have fun!

I like the sheath, too! Such a great, fun print. the shoes and bag you've chosen look just right to my eye...agree with you that the jacket is a bit big, and for this dress I'd choose something shorter, anyway, like a cardigan or a shawl like others have suggested.

You look beautiful in BOTH dresses, I just think the second one is more modern and fun.

I guess I'm going against the grain in that I like #1, but with the jacket and bag from #5. The pale colors with black feel more dressy to me than the saturated brights.

I like #3 and #4 but you need a more cropped jacket or topper. In the absence of such, you can always add a shawl, those are easier to find in a pinch.
All of your bags look lovely. I think I like the bag you chose ( blue???) the best.
Shannon (Transconna Shannon) is a pro on choosing toppers for her sheath dresses. I would peruse her WIW's if you need inspiration.

Another vote with the majority. A shawl would be good, but the jacket is perfectly fine too. It is a little crisp for wedding wear, but if that is your style, it's not out of line.

Black bag if you wear the sheath, fun colours if you go for the first dress.

I like both, but I think the clear YLF winner is the sheath! I'd carry a bag that picks up one of the colours in the dress (white, pink, green) with my choice being green, if you have a green bag (I think I see one hiding xD). Then match with black or nude shoes. I agree with others that the blazer is not my favorite choice-- I think it weighs the outfit down, and a pashmina/shawl/large scarf would work wonderfully for this outfit!

Have fun at the wedding!

Love the dress in 3 and 4. You look gorgeous in that dress!!! I like it with the turquoise purse, but I'd love to see it with the red clutch too and maybe even the red shoes. The matchy matchy shoe purse thing is fun, and it looks like they'd be different enough to work nicely. I love pink and red together, that's why I'd try the red with the 3/4 dress. It would all depend on whether they were the right red and pink, though, so you'd definitely have to hold them up against each other to see.

Another vote for the second dress. Re. the jacket, do you have one that's more cropped? A shorter length seems to work better with dresses. I never understood why I could never love a jacket over a dress until Angie pointed out the importance of length: http://youlookfab.com/2010/10/.....r-dresses/

Oh, I adore you in 3/4 - the flowered sheath dress! But I'm not so fond of the jacket over it - that's where I see a corporate vibe, not a summer wedding vibe. Do you have a cropped cardi, just in case of A/C, or a pashmina type shawl? (Some friends and I have one we all share for weddings!! Or actually one friend has it and the rest of us borrow it ;-)

For a bag, I'm loving the red clutch shape and would happily pair it with those strong pink flowers. The aqua would be next, third would be the smaller black handbag.

You'll be looking beautiful for the event!

I really like the floral sheath dress in 3-4. It seems to look better without the jacket, or maybe the jacket gives it a less summery vibe, but I think it looks fab on its own, and you can always bring the jacket (or a wrap?) just in case. I like the idea of a black clutch with it.

To me the answer is clear, but of course DH likes the one that I like least. I find it hard to pick, though, because all I can think of is "walrus" when I look at these photos. So, I put it to you!

1 & 2: Red and white sundress, red open-toed leather wedges, and clutch. More summery, but as it's likely to be cool and probably rainy, that's probably a liability rather than an advantage. The only jackets I have that would go with this dress are denim, which is perhaps too casual for a wedding. Also, I think this dress is actually a bit too small.

3 - 6: Black sheath dress with funky tropical print, black canvas espadrille-type wedges, funky green bag?, black linen jacket. Looks a bit corporate, I think, but at least the print of the dress and the materials of the shoes and jacket are summery. This dress fits much better, almost to the point of being too big, and in looking at the photos I think the jacket sleeves might actually be too long. I'm not 100% sure about this bag, either -- I could carry a smaller plain black clutch, or maybe the funky silk bag.

7: Various bag possibilities

8: Vintage earrings that might go with outfit #2

9: Bright silk bag

10: Black clutch bags (first one has funky swivel handles and a subtle silver sparkle, the second is just plain black leather).
