Thank you Dana, for your wise words. These will be my second glasses, so I am quite new to this. I do like the idea of having a spare pair, as my eyes feel 'wobbly' now when I don't wear my glasses. Before I wore glasses I had tired eyes by dinner time.
I have seen many shops and returned to the closest shop as I trust the optometrist there. Which is pretty important.
I would love to see which glasses you find on sale!

I like #1, too. Good choice! As a glasses wearer since the age of 9, I think it's so important to update every few years. When you wear glasses every day, they become so much a part of you that it's nice to feel fresh. Goodness knows the cost per wear is low!

I hate to shop for glasses and like you, usually don't make my decision on the first trip. I'll be specs shopping soon and am excited as one of the premier shops in town has a huge sale! Enjoy your new frames and improved vision:)!

Today I took the plunge and chose nr. 1. I tried on a different pair of glasses that had the same general shape, but followed the line of my brows and was larger, but I didn't like the detail in the legs. I do feel they look better in person than on the photo's.
The optometrist checked my eyes and it turned out my prescription has changed slightly as I have a cylinder now. The glasses should be ready by the end of next week.

I like #1 except I wish it curved up right at the bridge, so s to follow your brows. I always look for glasses that go up instead of straight across the bridge, as I have similarly shaped brows.

Thank you all! Number one is from the specialist where I bought my current pair of glasses and is half the price of the reddish one so with your responsss added to that it's easy to go back to the shop most close by.
One of the attractions of the fed one is that it follows conventional rules like following my eyebrows. That is the thing that is scary with number one, but the cat eye shape does make me happy too. I do wonder which one will be out of fashion first, though.

Heleen, it's good to see you. Angie has spoken. The first frames are super sharp! I have to say that I like the way #2 follows your brow line, and I feel like the distance shot shows that best. Your current glasses are still current looking to me, and flattering, but I know how it is to want a change.

I like the first pair however it seems to "cut off" your brows at on odd point.
The depth of the color flatters your complexion. The second pair seems to cast shadows under your eyes. I do think your current pair is the most flattering.

Your smile is lovely! I like the colour of #2 but they look too big--too much space over the nose and are the tops hitting your brows? The arms are a bit thin? maybe? I'd like to see this same shape on your face, only smaller, just to see.

The size of #1 is good--but my gut reaction is that the frames are too thick. You have delicate features. If at all possible, I'd love to see a shape that follows your brows, too, rather than one which fights with them.

I just bought a pair of glasses which --after getting feed back here on the forum--I will be returning. You are smart to ask for advice here, before you get them!

Hello hello! I like the glasses in #1 a lot, but I don't know if they *say* the right thing. I lean towards #2 - you look very happy and light of heart. I do like your current glasses as well, but find them more serious than happy.

I love the idea of # 1 also - a stronger looking frame with a cat's eye shape is very on trend and suits you well. You may need a frame with a slightly narrower bridge though.

Hello,

I was a frequent visitor of ylf quite some time ago. I had to reduce my time on the computer and so I somehow got YLF off my radar. But now I am shopping for new glasses and I wondered who could give me the best advise and immediately thought about you all. The first two are two very different styles of glasses that are the two I liked best in different shops around town. Picture 3 is an older picture of me wearing my present glasses.
I would like to hear your thoughts about these three possibilities. My prescription hasn't changed in 3.5 years, which I guess is good news, so there is the frugal Dutch woman in me that sais I should just be happy with what I have.

I still feel awkward when making selfies...
