I like the Birks better. They are intentionally chunky and identifiably fashionable. Plus you've been wanting them for a year now.  The Naya's do have a slightly orthopedic vibe. I jut bought the ones in my Find from target and they're quite nice for the price, with the white sole. Of course, the real Birks will be longer lasting so ignore me if that's a factor. Yes, I think if I go with the Birkies, I would get the version with white soles. They aren't actual leather (they are "Birko-Flor", whatever that is)  but maybe that's ok. And they would probably feel a bit less clunky in the proper size. They may be narrower, but there is more foot coverage, which appeals to me less. But then again, I love Birkenstocks, so their styling (or lack thereof) appeals to me. I may have a sugar eye for them.  But if you like the Birks and want a lighter look, you may want to see if you like white Birks with a white sole better. But they do look polished and comfortable, and I wouldn't say they look orthopedic. Looking back through your old posts, I think the Arizonas would work well with your style. Another option might be the Mephisto Helen, which is somewhere between the two in clunkiness and polish. (I also haven't been following trends to know if Birkenstocks are going to fade out of fashion soon leaving us all wondering why we're wearing clunky sandals. I plan to keep my Mephistos regardless, though!) I ordered the white patent. They are too big, so if I keep them, I'll need to size down, and I might switch to the non-patent version. But these white & silver Naya sandals also caught my eye (sorry that the Anthro picture doesn't show the right color - you can click on it to see the proper color). Now I'm on the fence. The Arizona's feel a bit chunky to me (duh!) and I go back and forth between thinking that the Naya's are cool vs. orthopedic-like. Thoughts? thanks.
