Thanks Peacechick! I agree, I can't see myself going back to a quartz watch either. I might splurge for a more expensive automatic watch in a few years, we'll see.

Thanks Thistle!

Great choice, I really like the one you chose! Citizen and Seiko make great affordable watches. I have a Citizen Eco-drive and I love that it charges even under a lightbulb. I don't see myself going back to watches that need regular battery changes anymore Like you, I might go for an automatic next.

Thanks Sarah! Waterproof or not isn't a concern. And yes, after looking at it again I agree with you, the date window definitely looks nicer on the black face.

Thanks Carambola! That was my thought too, that the cream and the white are too similar.

Thanks Carter!

Thanks Shannon! I agree, I could see myself wearing both. That's why this was so difficult!

I think I'm going to order the black one.

They are both great, but if you are looking for contrast from your current watch, I would go with #7. For times when the dark face of the watch goes better with an outfit, both the white and the cream may seem too light.

I love the seiko 5 watches! (have 2 of the seiko 5 sport series and I have looked at this model on a number of occasions...although I have shied away from it b/c it doesnt seem as waterproof, not sure if that is a concern for your activities) So... that said my vote is for 7. I like that the date window numeral background is the same color as the watch face. The white background on the numerals throws off the cream watch face a bit IMO in #6. Both are great choices though

Okay, so I've decided against the blue and am still debating between #6 and #7. I'm leaning towards the black one right now, but not enough to pull the trigger - this is difficult!

Thanks Gryffin. I do wear a lot of blue, plus berry tones and greens. Black and grey too. All cooler tones I guess. I don't wear brown clothing, but I like cognac/tan/taupe with leather goods. I'm also almost always wearing silver for my metals. And I'm not quite sure what effect I'm after either. I guess I want something a bit different to my other one to change things up. And I do like some Tomboy vibes now and then.

Thanks Ceit! #6 is actually the one I found first when I went looking for watches online. I like the retro feel, but of course it has a light colored watch face just like the one I already have so I thought maybe something darker might be a better alternative.

Thanks Viva! You're right, #7 seems to differ the most. I agree, it would be a nice day watch. If this becomes my new day watch I could make an 'evening' watch out of #1.

Thanks Angie! Seems #6 and #7 get all the love.

Thanks El Cee! Yes, I do like the black and brown together. Of course I'd get the band seperately, so I could always decide on exact color later on. These were just the nicest combinations I could find with a quick image search.

Thanks Lyn!

I rather like the "antiqued" look of #6... looks a little like a vintage piece. But I also like the versatility of #7 as it has both black and brown (thus both warm and cool) in one piece.

Oh, this is such a personal choice!!!! I think Gryffin asks some really key questions about wardrobe, which will help you make your own choice about what's best for you. But I will go ahead and answer your question, which is what would I get? If the red were my current watch, I would probably choose #7, which is the one I was most drawn to, and which to me seems most different from the red with white face -- it's less dainty, more substantial. I love the black face with the brown strap. This one feels weighty and assertive; it's masculine in the best way (although I do love to play with the masculine/feminine thing, and I know not everyone does); it's a statement piece of jewelry; and it's neutral so would go with everything. It's not an evening watch but to me it's the perfect day watch.

Astrid what is the most common color in your wardrobe? If you do mostly denim the blue would be pretty. I always favor black because that's my dominant color. But I try and either match my main color or go with an accent which for me is silver. What metal do you wear usually? color? I think that's how I would swing it but I am not sure what effect you are after.

Two weeks ago my watch aquired a lot of really deep scratches and I have no idea where they came from. I've been wearing my old dainty Skagen watch since, but I got used to the look of a bigger watch and miss it. I don't wear much jewelry and the watch provided some interest....

I'm going to try to have the watchglass on the other watch replaced, I just hope it won't be too expensive. But, this incident made me think about finally getting another watch in a different style to the one I have.

I've had an eye on these Seiko 5 models for a while, I think it's the most affordable quality watch out there. And I'd like an automatic for a change.

Now I have no idea what color to get. There are four and only the green is not an option. Below are my current watch (minus the scratches of course), the three color options of the Seiko and the same ones with leather bands. I'd probably change the band.

What do you think? Are they all too sporty? Or is one of them a nice alternative to my other watch? Wich color would you get?
