I vote for taupe, I am always looking for taupe because it goes with everything, not too cool or warm. It works beautifully with black. It also works well IMO for most completions because it is neutral in temperature. If you have warm skin tones I think grey is a really hard color to wear next to your face. I also think taupe has entirely different feel than camel which is very warm. Love the coat and am envious of all those cream coats that you have. How does everyone keep them clean?

If you already have a cream coat, and a camel coat, then I vote for grey, which I definitely think you could do!

If you can stand another cream coat, it looks good on you -- otherwise the gray or taupe look nice. Hopefully when you try them on, one color will really right on you.

The taupe is fine, but I already have a camel coat, and other coats to go with more brown-themed outfits. I really need something to wear when I am wearing black boots or black dress slacks, which is why I was leaning towards the grey.

I will have to see how it looks in person! Hopefully I can get out of the door early tomorrow...

I think the taupe and the grey are the prettiest on the hanger. I remember Angie saying a while back to someone who felt swallowed up in a black coat, that it was because the coat was all black, no texture or contrast. The taupe and grey here seem like a false plain.

I don't know about those color options that BR has - other than the cream, which sounds like it doesn't work for you with your existing coats. I don't prefer that charcoal grey color on blondes, but that's just my personal preference. I wish they had it in eggplant or a shade of green ...

I agree with everything Tanya said. If black really worked in your wardrobe and you are replacing it, you may even want to consider that color. The grey looks like it could go dressier than the taupe, but both are beautiful soft colors.

I was first going to say cream but then read that you already have a couple of cream coats. In that case, I'd go for grey, and I'd also try on the taupe one, beacuse seems to be dark enough to not be beige, and you never know which of the two colors would be more flattering for you. Taupe would also go great with many greens in your wardrobe.

I'm doing fly-in and fly-outs today because I'm on calls and the one I'm on now is "listen-only." Teleworker equivalent of "facetime." ;-)

I am thinking about running into BR tomorrow morning if I get a chance to take advantage of some coupons and the triple points deal. I have had my eye on this coat for awhile:

http://www.bananarepublic.com/.....pid=598392

Assuming it fits and flatters, and it's warm enough for winter (not just fall), which color would you go with?

As I mentioned, I recently took advantage of an online Bloomie's sale and have on its way a cream ponte knit trench (probably fall/spring weight - not suitable for winter), and a cream down puffer (perfect for freezing cold winter weather). I also have the short cream car-length coat I bought at Mango.

What I need is a coat this length I can wear through winter when a puffer isn't quite right. I am buying just ONE more coat then that is it (unless the most perfect black moto jacket finds its way to me, which I doubt at this point). I want one to replace the long black coat I shared before that is too long and not a petite coat and it's... black. I want this final coat purchase to be something I'm happy with for years, not just a single season.

I'm kinda leaning towards grey instead of cream....

Your thoughts?
