My Mom is getting the Jiffy steamer for me for Christmas. I told her it's what I really want. It's the same one Velvetychocolate wants. Gets good reviews, not too expensive ($124.99) and is Made in the USA. Which y'all know I'm a little obsessed with. : D

I got the little Jiffy one: http://www.amazon.com/Jiffy-St.....038;sr=8-8

I like how small it is, since space is limited in my house, and it gets the job done when I'm doing laundry or freshening up an outfit before I head out for the day. It's quick and effective, but I haven't used a full sized one, so I don't have much to compare it to.

MaryK, I can't believe you posted this question today, because I was just thinking about posting the same question!

I read some reviews recently (forget where), and I've had this one in my cart on Amazon while I debate whether or not to go for it, but also where I'll keep the darn thing. This one is pretty expensive, unfortunately, but I don't want to bother with one that's too weak to do any good.

MaryK - I saw a Rowenta on sale at Target today - I think it was $99. - don't know if it was the one that dianthus recommends, but you might want to check it out!

I have a small portable steamer (can't remember the brand) and it is so awful - the steam flow is very weak so it doesn't do a thing on the wrinkles. So frustrating!

I have this one from Costco on my wishlist:

http://www.costco.com/Browse/P.....&Mo=0

It looks like it has good reviews, but I don't own one (well, aside from a little cheap hand-held one that never really got used), so can't vouch for whether it's a 'good' steamer or not.

I purchased the Conair Garmet Steamer the night before my wedding in case a bridesmaid dress needed last minute steaming. I meant to return it after the wedding if it went unused. Two years later, I use the steamer once a week, and steam everything. Even my jeans. I love my steamer.

I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/Jiffy-St.....B0018ZHHS4, as recommended by Slate. They tested a bunch of travel steamers and this one came out on top.

And I think I've ironed once since I got it (approximately a year ago). I'm a fan. (And it really travels well!)

Ah, an area that I have experience in. I had the conair steamer and really liked it. It has a fairly large tank. Then I saw another one on a great sale so bought it thinking I would give one to my mom. I never decided which to keep and seemed to alternate. Then I saw the Rowenta on sale. It is this one
http://www.thebay.com/eng/home.....bay/201811

It has a good sized tank and a few handy attachments including one for putting the crease in pants. In terms of utility, the two benefits I appreciate most are the cloth covered hose and the coat hanger that is built in.

I used the Rowenta for a few weeks and then gave one steamer to my mom and one to my partner Tony. He now steams his t-shirts and dress shirts.

Hope that helps.

I have a Rowenta iron that has aseperate water tank base so it works as an iron/steamer. I mostly use it as an Iron on the steam setting and it makes the ironing go supper fast. I iron many men's button down shirts for my husband.
If you want just a steamer I suggest one that has big separate tank. I tried a little hand held black and decker and it started leaking and is more work getting wrinkles out then using the iron.

I have decided that I hate to iron but I also hate to be wrinkled, thus I need to acquire a clothes steamer. Do any of you own one? Do you like it? Suggestion re: which one to get?

Thanks in advance for any input!
