I wear black tights with my cognac boots quite a bit and I am always cognisant of the fact they break up my leg line--not ideal on my shorter legs, but something I can live with as JFE. I do try to balance the cognac with accessories, and I think the addition of a gold necklace and watch will do that for your outfit. You've also picked the right sweater; the sleeve length showcases your beautiful skin and helps break up the black so the cognac can play nicely with the outfit. I actually like this outfit better with the cognac boots for a casual night out as it's less expected and more playful.
