Hi Debra,

That's so funny that your post was from a year ago. I had no idea! I'm glad you found cute flats to fit. They're very cute! I may just have to try them myself!

Megan -- it's great to know about the Bloch shoes, as well. I've been very curious about Bloch. Recently I've been on a fold up shoe kick and I know that Bloch also sells a fold up ballerina flat, which I've been considering buying. We all get uncomfortable in our heels, but we narrows especially deal with feet sliding forward even in flats, so having something to fold up and put in my bag for those uncomfortable times is huge for me. Meanwhile, knowing that Bloch makes a comfortable ballet flat that I might be able to wear all day without having to carry around another pair would be a bonus!

Glad to hear that you found some shoes Debora! There is a Bloch style called Arabian court that is so soft and comfy they feel like you are wearing slippers all day

Hope you are happy with your new purchase

I was surprised to see this post from a year ago!

Thank you, Narrowshoe, for the link to your website!

Megan - Thanks for the link! They look promising and I will definitely check them out. After a year of searching for comfortable ballet flats, I finally bit the bullet and recently bought this pair in the black combo from Nordstrom's: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/3018689

I agonized over spending that much for a pair of shoes, but I decided that it would be worth the investment. They are narrow enough for my feet because of their European styling and so comfortable with their buttery leather. After buying so many pairs of shoes that I ended up not wearing because they were so uncomfortable, these are heavenly! I have just returned from a trip and they passed the test with flying colors. They were perfect for traveling and my fussy feet were happy!

Debora, you might want to try, The Narrow Shoe.com, http://www.thenarrowshoe.com. I know how difficult it is to find ballet flats in a narrow size--especially a 9 1/2 N! I struggle to find 9's, but for some reason it's even more difficult to find 9 1/2 N. Often the manufactures skip 9 1/2 and go straight to 10! I hope you'll check out some of the ballet flats on our site and that you'll find one that works well for you. Please let us know, too!

Thanks Mattie!

Great idea about giving a heads up if anyone finds a great narrow fitting shoe. I know I'm constantly on the look-out.

Thanks for the Talbots tip. I had forgotten about that. I did try on the Me Too's with the elasticized edges and the 9's felt pretty good but were too short in the toe box. They didn't have 9 1/2's and the 10's were too big. I wish the Me Too's came in narrow because they were the most comfortable flat I've every tried on.

Talbots carries narrow shoes online and in the catalog although I think these are fewer and further between lately also. Cute styles are hit and miss. Watch for markdowns.

I would love a heads up on narrow shoes or shoes that fit narrow feet whenever someone strikes that gold. I'm a 6. Thanks for all the info.

Maya - I bought my very first Sofft sandals this spring. They are a T-straps with a little wedge heel. I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for flats in that brand. Thanks!

Lesley - I know what you mean about shoes being the most costly part of your wardrobe. I'm resigned to the fact that I have to pay top dollar for a pair of narrow shoes that fit. There's always a very limited selection, the stores never seem to get in that many pairs in narrow and the size 9's always seem to be the first to go!

I wasn't familiar with Zappos. Thanks for the suggestion and I'll definitely check out Stuart Weitzman, Donald Pliner and Cole Haan. I'm acutually kicking myself that I didn't buy a beautiful pair of brown suede ballet flats at the Cole Haan store when I was in NYC last year. They were even on sale. What was I thinking!!!?

One other question....I've seen some threads about the Me Too Nadia flats with the elasticized edges. Actually I think Angie had a post about it and people were talking about sizing up for wide feet. Does anyone know if they would work for narrow feet because of the elastic?

http://www.zappos.com/search/s.....h/%22AA%22

Sure! I'm happy to help another narrow footed gal in her search!

Basically, I shoe shop at Zappos, Nordstrom, and Nordstrom Rack. I am resolved that shoes are going to be the most costly part of my wardrobe. So, I choose carefully, own fewer, take care of them, and wear them 'til they cry "Uncle."

I currently own 2 pairs of ballet flats. Both are Stuart Weitzman. One is a pointy toed leopard suede flat that I wore to death until this spring. The other is a black patent round toe flat that has gotten alot of mileage too. Both were purchased from Nordies and Nordies Rack at a discount.

Ballet flats are tricky for us. You'll either pay big bucks for a killer pair of shoes, or get something that fits but looks dowdy for less money. IMO, there aren't many moderately priced, stylish, narrow width ballet flats out there. And you can forget about fun colors for the most part. That would be asking too much. If only Sam Edelman, Tory Burch, et al could be a bit more accommodating...sigh...

Currently, it's all about the sandals. You might need to wait until July/August to score some really cute closed toe shoes in narrow, unless you see something on sale that you really like (see the Zappos link I posted).

Yep...it's tough...and narrow shoes are quickly disappearing. No one really wants to be bothered with them, since most folks have wider feet on average. *having a moment of silence for narrow shoes."

We'll have to check-in on the narrow shoe front from time to time. Also, check out Cole Haan and Donald Pliner.

HTH!

Hi Ladies,

I was hoping some of you gals with narrow feet could help me find ballet flats in narrow. I wear a 9 or 9 1/2 N shoe and have very fussy feet. My biggest problem with flats is keeping them on my heel.

I do have the following shoe:

http://www.munroshoes.com/Prod.....spx?id=133

It's the Angie flat by Munro and is very comfortable but I wear it more like gear.

Can anyone suggest a ballet flat that is comfortable but doesn't look quite so much like gear?

Thanks!
