Jean, unfortunately I don't remember the section in Marshall's where I found them. Actually, the Marshall's in my town is totally chaotic, it's not clear to me they actually have sections. :-)

On the Boden website they were just called clamdiggers, but I guess they might not have them again until next summer.

Good luck in your search!

Thanks for the suggestions. I too was keeping watch at goodwill for jeans/pants I might chop off. We'll see what luck I have by summer time. I definitely need something that fits not snug but closer at least. Anything else looks a little dumpy on me...maybe because I'm in the petite range.
Thank you Medusa, for tipping me off to Boden. I will keep my eye on that and Marshalls. Do I look in the capri or shorts section there? And what term do I use in my searches online?
I'm interested in the fun prints at Boden. I think I recall that Kari got a great skirt there this year that first brought them to my attention.

A bunch of us got them from Boden last summer. Worked for me. I also found a pair at Marshall's.

Some members have said they bought skinnies and had them shortened to hit at the bottom of the knee. Clam diggers hug the leg more than walking shorts.

Jean Gray I am having the same problem finding clamdiggers. I am getting to the stage where I'm just thinking of buying jeans and getting them chopped off. Please do let me know if you find some however!

I always think of walking shorts as hitting just above the knee. Are you thinking of pants that hit just below the knee--what used to be called "pedal-pushers" back in the dark ages of fashion? I think they're going by the term "cropped pants" or "crops" these days. The hemlines range from just below the knee to mid-calf, so you may have to search and try on to find just the length you want.

I had a difficult time finding clamdiggers this past summer. I would like to know where to find them for winter and summer. What names other than clamdigger/walking shorts would they go by?
