I read the reviews and pick the ones with a lot of reviews. you don't find the same brands from one visit to the next, but I've been pleased with the last several sets. I use the same sheets until they wear out - take them off, launder, iron them damp (cause, 1000 count, very wrinkly, but so smooth when ironed), remake the bed weekly.&nbsp; They do break down eventually and tears appear, then I donate them to the local Humane Society - lucky pups and kitties! I'm due for new ones, they last about 2 yrs.<br />I only hate the ironing after I have had a full house, as all of the sheets are like this. I wish I could remember where I got them — I’ll have to see if I can find the tag, as faded as it must be. Those sheets are for our guest bedroom though, since it is our old bed (a California king, so not easy to find sheets for in b&amp;m stores). When we moved into this house, we found a bed we really liked but it’s a king size and won’t accommodate the additional length of a CKing mattress. So our guests get a really sweet sleep when they are here — that bed is still amazingly comfortable. </p> <p>Our problems with some super soft expensive sheets have been durability and pilling. I’m a bedding snob from way back when a wedding gift set pilled horribly resulting in a very yucky bed. One spends 8/24 hours in bed, and I don't wear pJ’s. I bought 2 x $200 sheet sets that lasted 20 years and that set the course for bedding for me. These days it’s Frette bed linens. I offer conventional and European style to my guests. DH prefers conventional - fitted bottom sheet, top sheep, blanket, duvet. Currently the DS’s prefer European - fitted bottom sheet and a duvet, with duvet cover. Everything gets changed/laundered weekly. We have 3 queen beds and 6 full sets of linens. Everything is white. 2 sets are Portuguese flannel for folks who crave warmth in winter. These are from Lands’ End. 4 pillows on every bed.
