It's cute as a button but I agree that it's more of a picnic party/summer wedding dress, with the flippy skirt and the low back as well as front. I can imagine it working for work with a cardigan over, maybe, but I never like not being able to take off layers if necessary.

Hmm, I think it's gorgeous but my first hunch is that it's more of a party dress (not necessarily just formal party though; it would definitely work for more casual festive occasions too) than a work dress. Although you seem to have a knack for making all dresses work-appropriate so maybe with a blazer and cami it would work for you. Could you order, try with various stylings, and then return if it doesn't work?

Re: the cleavage thing. With the OMGboobs gold dress, I think the reason why it got so cleavagey at the wedding banquet was that I was indeed wearing a pushup bra, and didn't realize that it would actually give me that much cleavage. Normally my boobs are very wide set and I have a broad sternum so that's pretty much all you'd see. Even with a regular bra I feel rather exposed in it, but it's not OMGboobs.

I think it's really pretty and would be appropriate for work, out and about (I think from your posts you are a dress person, so you would wear?) - I can imagine it working for different occasions, say with a colorful cardi, vs. a dressy black blazer maybe, vs. a jean jacket.

I agree with comments that it needs a cami though - I am bit of a prude, but that's too low-cut for my taste!

I'd want to see it with a formal blazer for most work environments - and even then it might be too girly! (Errrr can you do a blazer or do you wear a lab coat thing?)

Hmm... the neckline looks low to me, even on Taylor. I would say yes for dates or non-conservative social occasions, but no for meeting the parents and work. The deep V in the back makes it a no for me - I think that always looks odd layered over a blouse. The back V always says "party" to me.

It's pretty but too low cut in front for my taste. May be worn without moving or it may show more than was intended.
I love the print and the back. A cami would ruin the back. If you want you can add a nice piece of fabric mimicking the front of a cami under the front dress opening so you do not lose the pretty back opening and it's more comfortable. You are good with sewing so I think you can do that.
It's great for date night. Not for meeting his parents or for work.

This dress is so pretty! I think its really cute the way it is, for shopping or going out on a date, of course! But for work or meeting his parents, depending on your body, the neckline could be too low--dépends how it hangs really. But you could always put a spagetti string white tank top underneath just to create a little triangle of modesty at the neckline...

Do you ever do brunch? My first thought when I saw the pattern and cut was, "what a lovely dress that would be for a Sunday brunch."

...and not sure why, but for some reason I really want to see it with bright yellow pops of color (belt, bag or shoes).

Pretty dress! But the style and print are not what I think of for work at all, even for young docs. Not the neckline, as layering can fix that. It just reads flowery- girlie off- work time to me.

I always wear camisole... Preferabely the high neck square ones.(Thanks a lot girls!!). So with camisole you can probably wear it anywhere.

This is a problem I face with most of the clothes. And camisole, tanks are my solutions:)

Lyn you can wear top over this and use a skirt too Just to change things. Layering blouses under dress is something you do. Date nights , denim jacket , open hair. A statement necklace can help things too, on days you don't want to layer

That's a gorgeous dress! And I think it would look great on you.

As about the neckline ... for me ... That's a pretty low neckline, especially to meet *his* folks. I would use it for date nights or evening parties (but the floral might not really say *evening*) ... Even then with cami! So I am not really sure how you feel about it. It totally depends on your comfort level.

I am very fond of this dress, but I can't figure out where I can wear it as is... I don't really want to invest in it unless I can find a reasonable amount of places I can wear it to. The colours are very neutral so I can pair it with a whole bunch of colours and footwear, so I'm not too worried about that.

Work - I'd have to wear something under it - maybe a collared shirt, or a pussy-bow top; or a camisole underneath it. I can't flip it around because the back is also low cut. Or a cropped sweater overtop.

Play - Is this too low cut to wear out on a date? To meet his folks?
