They're currently on sale for $179. Not cheap, but high quality and it's water/ weather proof. They're a little slouchy around the ankle, but I kind of like that fit. (I, too, have 12" calves so they're not as fitted around the calf as they might be on others). The issue is that you are relying on the site to be accurate, and so many times, I have found them to be completely off base on their measurements. To me, it's more a trial and error thing. You have to order a bunch from brands that tend to run narrow, or go to a bunch of stores and try them on in person. </p> <p>Jean is right too. It's pretty hard to find narrow boots that are not $300 and up. Maybe low $200s if you are lucky. You can usually pick up La Canadiennes for low $200s on sale.</p> <p>One thing that has worked for me is stretchy leather boots. I have a pair of flat black boots made of that stretchy leather from Cole Haan. They are many years old and still going strong. Because the leather is stretchy, the manufacturer makes the boots narrow. They do not cling to my calves like they would with most people, but they work. I have tried and tried. The other option is dress boots with a high heel. I am not that crazy about slouch boots because I do not wear skirts shorter than knee length often. I have thought about Duo but not being able to see or try the boots is a bit of a risk. I have 8 or 81/2 feet which makes it even more difficult. It is a big pain and very time consuming. Try looking for narrow calf AND shorter shaft!!! Argh, the frustration....I found my holy grail boots a couple of years ago - Eccos with the perfect 13" shaft height too. Now I am trying to find a cognac pair and have had no luck. It also depends on your shoe size and thankfully I wear a 6.5 otherwise it becomes even more difficult as your feet get bigger. </p> <p>Anyway, there are certainly some brands that are known for making narrow calf boots, most at the high end - in addition to the ones mentioned, Prada, Loeffler Randall, Sigerson Morrison, some Cole Haan (especially if you have small feet). Some of the Miz Mooz seem to have narrow calves. "Narrow" will get you narrow width shoe sizes, and only wide calves are recognized as a special size need. As far as I can tell, it's totally hit or miss whether you find any that will fit. </p> <p>Angie recommends Stuart Weitzman ($$$$$) as a good bet, and I had success with Frye's "Melissa" style. You can also order from Duo in England, but the price and the shipping are a little daunting for something you can't try on in advance. Nordstrom doesn't let you search by calf width anymore, as far as I can tell My other favorite sites, including zappos, either don't let you narrow by calf width at all, or they only let you choose wider calves. Endless has a "narrow" calf section, but they define narrow as 15" inches or less, meaning that almost none of the boots are actually filtered out, since the vast majority of knee high boots have 15" calf circumference. I have 12" calves, fyi. </p>
