I actually found the ones I tried to be rather low cut as well but would be ok with tights (I actually would have worn knee highs under cropped pants). Not so much standing still, but once I started walking. I made do with them for a while, and then once I found a good replacement, they got donated. Try pads or go a size up with a liner , that sometimes makes a huge difference in the way it fits and flatters the foot. My foot issue is a wide ball of the foot (below the base of the toes). Sometimes I try on shoes and can't stand how part of my foot sticks out, and other times it is subtle enough or I want the shoes enough and they're otherwise perfect, so I get them. Case in point...
