Definitely wait a bit and try stretching also - if it’s a small amount that could make a big difference. In my case I have now waited a year after acl knee surgery and my foot is a half size bigger. I replaced a few essentials but will be shopping for all new fall and winter footwear.

Listen to Angie. For me it is to early and too warm yet to make decisions about footwear for colder weather, unless the decision is about boot fit in the calf or ankle.

I have totally put off trying on fall/winter footwear because it's so stinking hot right now. I'd wind up getting rid of things that actually work for me. I'm kind of backwards in my footwear collection: our dominant weather pattern is too freaking hot, and yet I own so many boots and booties that do NOT work with our dominant weather pattern. Add in my newest foot woes and it's a recipe for a mess come cooler weather.

Is there any possibility of having them stretched slightly?

I have noticed shoes fitting differently depending on weather, time of day, my activity level, and even after I’ve been traveling (I guess feet can swell a little after air travel). I’d try them again later. If after a few tries you’re still finding them uncomfortable, I’d say they’re a lost cause.

I’ve had a couple of previously workhorse-level shoes become uncomfortable this summer. One pair gave me a horrible blister when that had never been a problem before. So far I haven’t given those shoes away, but I should, shouldn’t I? Sigh.

It will be good to try them when the weather cools a little so that your feet are no longer swollen from Summer.
I am doing the same with the PG mocs from NAS, they are a bit small now but the next half size up is too big.

Wise shopper, do have them in the box or on display somewhere? Personally, I can't get into displaying purses and shoes, but I know some people like to.

Thistle, why try them on at any time other than when you'd wear them?

I feel for you. After I broke my toe last summer, some of my shoes (sandals, really) didn’t fit any more. My toe wasn’t set properly, and so straps are a problem. I should have taken stock at the beginning of this summer, but was too preoccupied with planting our garden and vacation planning to think about it. It kind of makes me sick to think about it.

Try them on again in three weeks and with knee highs. Then pass on if they no longer work.

I know exactly how you feel! I have a pair of Alexander McQueen python heels that I never used but LOVE having them and looking at them and knowing that I have them. It would be much more reasonable selling these beauties, I could probably get some good money for them. However, I'm still hoping to wear them for some super special occasion.

If you feel the same way about yours, I'd say keep them for now. But if it's just a question of fitting, you can replace them with something that you know will be comfortable.

Trying to decide if I need to part with a pair of shoes I love.

I tried them on two weeks ago, and put them back in their box as they were too snug. It was in the 90s then, and I figured my feet were swollen.

Brought them out again last night, they fit okay, but were pinchy (technical term there) when I walked. Back in the box.

I didn't wear them last winter as my foot was still healing from being broken. Not really sure at what point I admit they will never fit again and pass them along to a new home!
