Weight Watchers tell you to throw away everything that is too big and only to have clothes that fit. So, psychologically, there´s no way back to more weight again because you don´t have clothes for that....;)

It has been so hard to find jeans that fit all my requirements, which is why I was leaning towards altering. Hopefully I can find all my favorites on eBay.

I agree with Joy, it is better to get new pants -- slowly -- and leave the bigger ones unaltered. If you ever want to thrift or cosign them, you won't be able to fairly if you alter them.

What Taylor said. For now I would buy one new pair of jeans and see how it goes.

Maya, when I lost weight I had some of my expensive pants altered. It was a mistake. I wish I'd left them alone and then could have at least consigned them. The invisabelt looks worth a try.

One of my jeans is on ebay in my new size for very cheap, but it is newly listed so it probably won't stay that way. I'm keeping an eye on it though.

Invisibelt is a good idea. But I really need to find a good tailor

Not to be a pessimist because I know you won't regain any weight, but I'd give it six months. It would almost be better to buy one new pair of jeans in a smaller size while you wait, you know?

Why don't you try an invisibelt? For the meantime anyway.

http://www.invisibelt.com/invisibelt_girl.aspx

I will be physically ill if I hear that your collection of jeans have had a botch-up alterations job. And you'll be ill with me.

I guess since I have been wearing dresses most of the time lately, I haven't felt my weight loss as much. But this past week there have been a few chilly days where I wore jeans, and I could definitely feel the waistbands were loose. Not loose enough to slip off or anything, but before they were borderline too tight and now there is plenty of wiggle room and I constantly have to tug them back up during the day or they get all bunchy. You may remember when I first got my Earnest Sewn straight leg jeans, I was complaining about muffin top and asking for advice on stretching them out a bit. Well, they are now gaping slightly at the back. Luckily they still seem to fit fine at the hips and thighs, so it is just a matter of getting the waistband adjusted. However, I'm feeling a little reluctant to do so. My jeans are investments and it took me a long time to build up my collection, and once I make this adjustment I can't really go back. I don't want to believe that I will gain that weight back, but who knows. I'm at the latter half of my 20's and things can change. I'm wondering how long I should wait before I go ahead and get them altered. I still have at least a few months more as I try to shake off these last few pounds. Or should I just get new jeans? Or keep these for days when I'm a little bloated? I don't know....
