I have the same issue but the jeans look fabulous on you! Those jeans would look cute paired with a nice belt and that will hold them in place, solving two issues at once

This drives me crazy--I was thinking in the future of going for a higher rise too. I always assumed it was due to my not having a more defined waist.

Very current topic as I spent the day yesterday tugging up my jeans (additionally weighted down by a walkie talkie!!) and was cursing the lower rise. Thank goodness for longish tops.

Yep, we have been on this topic many times.
It's a combination of many things, as per Angie's summary above. I still suffer from this affliction since I can get my mind past the concept of a roomy skinny jean. I like my jeans snug.

Mine slide down all the time. It's inevitable. Try a belt! I just slide the buckle around to the side so it doesn't stick out under my tops when I'm going untucked.

I've brought up this topic several times before, because I am a constant victim of pants slippage. I've been experimenting for several years, and this is what I've found:

1. Very clingy legs cause jeans to slide down, especially if the waist is loose
2. stretchy fabric slides more than non-stretchy
3. lower rise slides down, whether they're skinny jeans or not

My two best pairs of skinnies in terms of not sliding, are ones that are constructed of rigid denim, and while they are slim, they don't cling to my thighs. I can get away with no belt with these two. I have to wear a belt with all the other ones.

Well, I *do* have abnormally large thighs and I get this too! I feel like the fabric hugs my thighs, which means as I stand and sit, the jeans pull down slightly. Getting the waist taken in helps quite a bit.

This happens with my skinnies too. A belt anchors them into place so they don't slide down.

I never wear belts and this is exactly what got me into wearing them. The skinnies simply look a lot better with a belt, even if you can't see the belt.

Too much stretch in the fabric, a lowish rise, tight fit on the legs and a slightly too roomy fit on the waist = skinnies falling down.

I agree that it's the tight legs that pull them down. After hashing this out over the winter (Suz had this problem with the fit a lot) it seemed to me that just a bit of play in the legs that allows the jeans to actually slide up and down the leg (as opposed to being pulled on like support hose) keeps this from happening. Just MHO of course.

I have ample hips and my skinnies still slide down. I think it's a function of the tight fit through the leg -- the more the legs move, the more the skinnies gravitate south. Do you think belting might help some?

These rag and bones are managing to fit my thighs and slide utterly off my butt (see pics 2 and 3). Sorry for the torso show for anyone who finds that offensive. I was trying to show how far the skinnies had dropped; they're supposed to be at least an inch closer to my navel! Would having hips prevent this issue, or is it simply the Skinny Jeans Curse?
