I saw a simple test somewhere that said to count the number of colored bands in a strip. Result was that I’m a tetrachromate (or whatever that word was). The languages part was interesting too. The Somali word for “blue” is clearly derived from the English. The word khaki comes from Urdu for <u>“dust colored”. </u>A British military leader was sick of his British troops standing out in their wool uniforms and his Indian troops standing out in their bright colors, so he had khaki uniforms made. It was a thing to rub dirt or tobacco juice or such on clothes to blend in (clearly, this was before camo patterns were a thing). They got teased for a while until it became obvious that the cotton twill was comfortable and easy to wear. </p> <p>Then comes the history we know—late 19th century colonizers, military, soldiers going to college after the war wearing them, women starting to wear pants picking them up, and then the whole “casual Fridays” uniform of khakis + polo. But that’s all beside the point—<u>the color is a slightly yellowish light brown. </u></p> <p>Olive is green. I think of it as the leaves of the olive tree, rather than the fruit, which change colors as they ripen. </p> <p>Sorry if I bored anyone. I never thought to look into the history of clothes until ylf, and now it intrigues me.</p> <p>But back to the main point—this is a great color combo for you. Black is already your friend, and the (olive) green goes nicely with your hair; its dustier nature brings out the blonde glow, especially in the first two outfits, where they are directly next to each other; I think that contrast is central to the appeal of the outfits.
