Maybe it's because of the fabric, i.e. the belt is over a cotton cardigan. If it were over silk, maybe it would slip. I don't know. I tend to belt everything. I have found a thicker belt (usually 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 inches) works well it also needs to have a suede-like underside so that it does not slide around. How do you girls work around such a situation? I have added belts to my natural waist over dresses and they sit right. But the items without the loops do not exactly sit at my natural waist, that is why loopless belting would pose some 'slipping' risks. </p>
