Thank you all for the encouragement boost of positive vibes was much needed. I know now that choices that I have made I will be confident with. I will be posting under the title Rising from the caspule ashes like a Phoenix.

If the forecast is for rain, then the pieces in outfits 3-6 might be useful to have along. I like that mini-capsule, though I would probably remove either the gray or the orange layer when putting on the short poncho-type jacket. Maybe try the poncho-jacket over the denim romper, too?
Hang in there--it will all come together. I find capsules so difficult, too, in the first stages. And then when they somehow finally click into place, they bring serenity to travel dressing and packing.

You are just missing your special touches of flair in the first pictures. Maybe a travel accessory capsule? With room to add on as you roam.

I thought the first outfit was the most cohesive, and would be great for travel. Are you a maxi dress woman at all? Because those are lovely in the heat and go to dinner nicely. Any long linen or cotton tunics over city shorts or wide leg pants? I can see you doing flowy stuff and subtle texture beautifully. Dune, indeed.
As the ladies say, it is often hot and sticky. An umbrella works for both rain and sun, and I always pack a small travel one.
Have fun!

Just a suggestion. I create a capsule wardrobe by putting on the outfit that I'd be happy wearing over and over if the rest of my luggage went missing. That outfit becomes my core. I wear that core outfit while I look for other pieces in my wardrobe I can add to the core outfit to dress up, dress down, or adjust for climate. Once I have assembled my secondary pieces, I try them on in different ways to see which items are the most versatile before making my my final selection. Depending on the size of my suitcase, I'll add in 2-5 third-level pieces to make the secondary pieces more versatile., or just to add some variety on a long trip.

Why do travel capsules cause so much stress... I started months ahead for my 3 week trip to Ireland and cant tell you the number of changes I made. In the end all that was worth it as I was so confident with every choice. Hoping this happens for you!

E thank you I'm going to regroup but your suggestions are very important and helpful. I looked at the forcast called for rain and things just did not seem to go right. I'm going to see what topper I have that may work. Much appreciated

You all are a balm to my warn torn warrior spirit. After a nice break and some good pizza and watching an episode of Dune inspiration started to flow. Dune really inspired me creatively I love that movie and I started to visualizes. I asked myself what was the issues and how I could remain true to who I am?

Rachylou , Torontogirl - you are spot on and you made me smile. you are correct the travel outfit did not feel like me. I think it was the grey tunic. I'm going to reevaluate my travel wear. Play suit is a keeper. I'm going to go back and look at some of my own inspirations thank you.

Sadie- I'm prepared to gain about 10lbs with all the food oh my. Lol layers, layers, layers. You sound like your familure with the weather thank you.

Traci-I do have a tube skirt but is kind of risqué. I'll take a picture in my next conversation. This is my first attempt at a caspule wadrobe but, I will not be defeated. Never give up never surrender.

Daria- I thought with the printed Python leggins it would be enough but is was still to plain for my exta fab self. Lol. That is ok if you did not see anything else this is why I'm here well the unity and friendliness helps also.

I personally wouldn't want to wear leggings in low 80s, high humidity weather (and I lived in south Texas for four years, until last fall). I really like the playsuit & the dress! I think clothes that catch the breeze, and that don't cling to you, are key for enjoying sightseeing in warmer weather. If you're concerned about sun protection, a lightweight long sleeved layering piece or two will help out there, as well as for the inevitable freezing a/c. The sunhat is a great idea!

If I were doing a mix & match wardrobe, I'd probably bring two trouser/short bottoms (one looser, one tighter, and at least one of dressier fabric), a few breezy tops that work with either, a couple of long sleeved toppers (probably 1 cardigan and 1 lightweight jacket) because I don't like exposing my arms to the sun, and a dress. The toppers would be trickiest, as they'd need to go with all of the tops & the dress for maximum versatility. I don't know if that helps you or not, but I hope it can spark some ideas for rebuilding your capsule!

ladywone - I didn't see any of your previous WIWs but I think the first outfit is really cute. Maybe it's too ordinary and plain for you style as others have pointed out.

I quite like the first outfit, especially for travel. I agree that it's going to gel hot hot hot! I like the silk dress more than I expected to.

Do you have a knit tube skirt? I think you'd look great in one with one of the tanks you showed in the other thread.

Oh, and this is how it always goes for me building a capsule. I think I know all the pieces to take, then I snap pics and learn I had it all wrong.

Hi ladywone, I hear what you are saying - I looked at your photos and although you have some cool outfits there (I really liked the one in photo 8 - the denim with the flowy top? over), it didn't seem quite "you" as I've seen you in other WIWs.

Can I suggest you have a look at some of your past WIWs - the two I spotted were the 'inspired by Annagybe" one, and the "black and white and sporty" one - those were terrific outfits and looked right for the climate you are going for, and made up on some versatile pieces (e.g. black dress, light jacket, etc.)

I wonder if rachylou is right, you did a great job editing but maybe you also got too streamlined, which is perhaps not true to your personality and thus doesn't quite feel right? Maybe you just need to add a few more pieces that have been successful before to pull it all together.

In any case, have a GREAT trip

Just my two cents but I live in Houston and I am used to the heat- be prepared for hot and humid (if it says 80 it'll feel like 90). You look fine in everything but 7-11 will work for the weather you are likely to experience NOLA. Especially coming from Chicago where you have not had time to accustom to the heat and humidity. Think layers (something for the A/C), and be able to get down to shorts/dresses/sleeveless in the afternoon heat. Enjoy the beignets, the jazz, the food (oh my! the food)- and have fun! Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Lol. I laugh in sympathy with. No, really ;)

The playsuit is definitely a winner. But the first two - they *are* something plain and ordinary. I'm thinking the travel factor has encouraged you to simplify and edit too much...

Oh my goodness let's talk. I took pictures of my vacation wadrobe and tried on all of my clothing earlier weeks ago. Tonight I came home eager to take pictures and layered and layered and snapped away. Long suffering sigh I did not like what I saw in the pictures.

I was not going to post these but, I feel like I need to. These are just some of the many combinations that I tried. The only one I liked was the denim playsuit and my hat. Now I have to regroup and think about how I move forward.
