A little tip I've picked up: Place the order over the phone. When the operator tells you the shipping cost, tell them you weren't expecting it to be so high and that you will have to cancel the order then... unless they can waive the shipping fee? The operator will say no at first, but ask them to talk to the manager. It depends on who you get, but I've had luck with the manager waiving the shipping fee for me.
