I do like to go with 3" heels but I a find that if I am going to dance in heels for any length of time, I need as much padding as possible. It makes a huge difference when dancing or walking in heels for any length of time. Depending on the kind of heel you wear, you can see what kind of padding you want. If it is a pump, you can see if you can slip in a gel footbed insert. </p> <p>If it is a boot, you can wear tights with a padded bottom and you can also add on a pair of thick socks to give you additional padding. My favourite pair of heels are a pair of knee high boots with a 3" heel. And then I see if they wobble badly before coming to a stop. The last pair of heels I bought I returned because when I did this, the one shoe wobbled around so bad that it almost fell over. That told me that the shoes were not very stable and that it wouldn't be good to walk in them. Most of my heels just wobble a little bit and then settle down within a second. But I do have a pair of VS stilettos that just keep wobbling and wobbling and wobbling...
