Hm, just another thought about tailoring jeans... the thing is that the jeans that fit good in the legs, tend to be too tight around the waist - and I guess it's not really possible to tailor jeans to be bigger around the waist?

Thank you Angie, good suggestion! Um, how do I do that..? Is it possible to bring all these posts, or do I start something completely fresh?

Chris, thank you too, very good ideas! I've actually never considered tailoring jeans, but will definitely do that now! And colours... I pretty much never wear pastels, doesn't really feel like "me" - might also be because it doesn't really suit me! Generally I'm a bit of a coward when it comes to colours, but yeah, considering compliments is also a good tip!

On the jeans issue - For the apple body it can be tough. Try to find a good fit in legs, hip and bottom (not baggy in the rear view) and if waist is too big it is inexpensive to have a tailor nip in the waistband. Works with all trousers actually. The rest of body is more complex to tailor. Hope that helps.

For the skirts - read all the apple body type posts and then reconsider your skirts. I think that will answer some questions.

On color - what shades do you think suit you? Think about times that you get compliments and go from there. I would think pastels might wash you out a bit?
Is that true?

You will love it here !

(Just a short note this time, I promise!) Oh my. I just found this wonderful vintage dress that I'm thinking about ordering. Just wanted to get some second opinions! Not sure wether it would really suit my body or not? And not sure if it's really me... but I fell a bit in love with it! And, I can always return it if it doesn't feel right.

What do you think? http://www.lilyofthevalley.se/.....ts_id/1933

Ah, yes Angie, your thoughts completely make sense! Still not quite sure that a biker jacket is specifically for me, but definitely get your point. And if I would find one vintage/2nd hand, that looks a bit more original than H&M, maybe I'd go for it! Not that I have anything against H&M, exactly the opposite, it's just when half the town you live in have the same thing, it gets a bit boring...

Regarding the jeans, they seem hard to find in Sweden... would be buying 2nd hand through internet, I guess. But I'm moving to London in September, should be able to find them there! However, I must say i actually don't like the pockets, with the flaps! Which most of them seem to have... Maybe it would be different if I could actually try them on, though..? And these ones sounds nice! http://www.couturecandy.com/hu.....oduct.html But maybe too skinny for me? Any particular cut and fit you think could work for me?

Other more concrete thoughts I'd love some advice on!
* Colours! Which colours could you recommend, and which are less suitable?
* Lengths for skirts, dresses, shorts... Above knees, mid thigh..? Shorter, longer?
* Do you think mid waist is a good rise for jeans and shorts, for me? I think proper waist high is a bit too high... And lower rise will pretty much just have everything flowing out, sort of :)
* I've created an album with some pictures of clothes from MyShape. Nothing I would order - it's too pricey for me - but at least it shows some looks that I could consider buying, so would love to know if you think any of those could work for me, or any suggestions on how I can think about the looks! http://s646.photobucket.com/al.....e/Clothes/
- I'm thinking a vest like this (http://i646.photobucket.com/al.....92-101.jpg) could work over a camisole and a pair of mid waist shorts or jeans, or maybe tucked into a high waisted skirt? And a cardigan like this (http://i646.photobucket.com/al.....92-EIV.jpg) could work unbuttoned over a camisole, or a dress? And I love vests, like this one (http://i646.photobucket.com/al.....25-E01.jpg), but not sure what to combine it with to make it look at its best?

Ok, phew, that's some thoughts off my mind! I really really appreciate any comments and help I can get! This is such a brilliant page! Thanks again!

You are super cute, Karin. I like your rambling :0)

Consider the following:

o	I’ve had an updated version of a biker jacket in my closet since the 80’s. I am never without one. Tough girl chic is part of my ageless style and not a trendy fashion statement. It’s fun to view items that way because you can reinvent them every season. I’m not trying to convince you to get a biker jacket, just introducing a lateral train of thought. Hope it makes sense.

o	Can you get Hudson jeans in Sweden? You need a pair of fabulous jeans for sure. I KNOW you’ll love them.

Thank you Angie! For your quick reply and lovely compliments!

I don't really have a great pair of jeans unfortunately! It's been so hard to find a good pair - the ones that fit well on the legs tend to be too tight in the waist; the ones that fit around the waist are too slouchy... Haven't bought jeans for a couple of years now, but recently been thinking about getting out on a hunt! Asking staff and hopefully getting some good advice. Any tips you can give, Angie? I'm not that into bootcuts, rather prefer straight legs. Doesn't have to be super skinny though!

Don't have a biker jacket either. I don't want to be too trendy - prefer to try to look more "unique" and wear things I can have for a longer period of time, and the biker jacket seems a bit too much right here right now for me - at least in Sweden where I live every other girl wear one those now

I love bubble hem skirts and dresses, and shorts (but find it hard to find good tops to match...), empire cuts and banded tops. However, I'm still in the process of trying to find my own style, which I've been for like... all my life. Trying to combine what I like with what suits my body, it's a work in progress! Especially since I'm not, and don't want to be, one specific style. I like to mix, going from cute, to kool and rockish! At least, that's what I want!

Also, there are (too) many times that I find myself sort of liking something in the fitting room, or liking the look, but after a while realizing it doesn't really suit me... Read your latest blog post Angie, about "conceptualizing" - maybe should give that a go, maybe that could help!

A lot of rambling now, anything useful?

Thank you for all your quick and positive comments! And hourglass+apple I guess sounds about right to me too!

An extra thank you to LauraElizabeth - I do feel quite confident, but sometimes when I see pictures or reflections of myself, I don't think it shows! But, through someone else's eyes, maybe it does! It was really up-lifting to hear, thank you! And chewyspaghetti - I myself reacted to how nice my legs look! I mostly focus on my tummy when looking at myself (trying to figure out how to make it show a little bit less), so quite miss other parts of my body... trying to change that, though!

Hi!

I'm new here, but it seems like a really good site! Been reading Angie's tips on how to hide muffin tops, and feeling quite inspired! Would love some tips on what my body type is, I have some photos here: http://s646.photobucket.com/albums/uu190/KarinSwe/ (sorry about the airbrushed face, just wanting to be a bit anonymous!)

I was also wondering if anyone could give some tips on different clothes/styles that could work for me? I like dresses (not too "girly" though), slightly vintage/2nd hand looks, as well as a more rockish style, with jeans and a kool top.

Thanks!
