It's approaching summer where I'm from so my loungewear is all about being cool and comfy. So my current wardrobe has been a light fleece jumper, shorts, t shirts ad some track pants

In the cooler weather, I wear fleece leggings, denim shirt or long-sleeved tee with a fleece cardigan. I have a great pair of fleece leggings from NF that need replacing but I haven't found the right pair.

I like wearing all black at home-leggings, long sleeved t's or tank tops. Cuddleduds and A New Day mostly. And furry socks. Furry socks are essential I change into them when I get home so kitty claws don't ruin my nice things!

Hasn’t changed in a year. I have a couple black and white pattern cotton dresses and several sets of pjs, which I wear around the house, not to bed. I can’t sleep with clothes on (although I’m starting to wear socks at night when I’m cold).

Honestly, if I'm staying in, it's the men's Puma joggers from Costco and a hoodie. It's not my best look but it's comfortable. I'd walk Oreo in it--if it was just around the block. If leaving the house to go to the grocery store, it's leggings and a tunic or jeans and a t-shirt with a hoodie. I've linked what I actually wore this weekend to go out for groceries.

Well, I don’t wear PJ’s When I wake up, I usually put on gym kit and I’m out the door (with the clothes I’m going to wear for the day packed in my gym bag.) If it’s a no-workout morning, my go-to is a pair of RBX Capri length wide leg yoga pants and a Uniqlo 3/4 t-shirt. I have two of each. If it’s cold, or I’m switching into something late in the day or after a cold outdoor day, I’ll wear full length yoga pants (Calvin Klein) and a hoody. (See pic below)

Everything has a high cotton content (92% or higher) so different from gym kit. I used to have a terry cloth robe that I liked a lot, but after ++years of service, it went into the rag bag, and I haven’t found a satisfactory replacement.

Interesting to read. No loungewear for me. I am up and dressed. Can be jeans and a sweater/t shirt when I am busy or doing nothing inside my home. Or I am in a nightgown and in my bed( can be early).

Janet - I hear you on being picky! We keep our house on the cold side in the winter (62-64) Toppers need pockets, joggers need to be long enough to keep my ankles warm and not too tight in the bum, chunky pullovers need to be big and fluffy, but not so fluffy that I will ignite myself while cooking... I want tops that will cover my bum if I'm wearing leggings, but I don't want a tunic. HA!

If only I were this picky with my day-to-day clothes LOL

Thanks to you, I went through my loungewear/pj drawer and noted that my sleep tees are looking rather bedraggled. Pants are in good shape. Sleep shorts got rotated to the back of the drawer for the season. I think it’s time to pull some of my lesser-loved graphic tees into sleepwear! Thanks for the nudge.

Also realizing that I love hoodies but my current collection is somewhat lacking. Since menopause I like a zip front hoodie so I can open it if I’m suddenly feeling warm. Bulkier pullovers are good for cold mornings. I hate when hoodies are too short. And I prefer hoodies to have pockets. Who knew one could be so picky about such things?! LOL

I resist the (strong) urge to buy loungewear, as I work from home and could easily wear nothing else! I drink my morning coffee in pajama pants + long or short sleeve tees and a soft open front cardigan, change into gear for a workout, then shower and dress for the day in jeans and a soft cozy top most often. And, I wear Ugg slippers all day long! (I currently own no sweatpants or hoodies.)

If I worked in an office and dressed to meet clients, I would no doubt come home and change out of “workwear” into loungewear.

My loungewear is all made by me sweatpants, hoodies, and sweatshirts. When I started sewing again a few years ago I figured making loungewear (and sleepwear too) was good practice before getting back into making clothes that I actually wear out of the house for long periods of time!

My lounge wear was bought at GAP and Banana Republic and so far surviving good. My sleepwear is in trouble - old, soft, worn out and impossible to duplicate - nobody have that 100% cotton knit fabric with soft elastic that my sensitive skin loves . I haven't found anything on that level and in my budget. Some mixes of modal/cotton or cotton/ rayon make feel cold, some - itch. The search continue.

My lounge wear capsule is actually in pretty good shape (for a change). I got angry at my closet today and organized it and was pleasantly surprised at how complete the capsule is.. A lot of my lounge wear pulls double duty as sleepwear, but I do have a few pieces that are strictly for couch potatoing.

I have several pairs of pajama pants with pockets, and these bottoms pull double duty with their "mates" (non-matching tops that go well like an outfit, if that makes sense). I will do dinner and housework and binge-watching or reading in these and them just climb into bed when its it's time. I also have some velvety joggers and leggings that I lounge around in, but I don't wear them to bed.

I am maybe a little weird in that I think a nice pajama set is a good outfit to wear in public (pics for examples), and I have accidentally done well at building a lounge/sleep capsule that works LOL

My lounge and my sleepwear capsules overlap. (I love items that can be worn in more than one way. I don't buy sleepwear that screams "sleepwear," as I actually want to be able to use it in public, too--at least in summer--and styled with other items.) My lounge capsule includes:
● 2 pairs of (very moderate) harem pants: 1 plum with white polkadots, 1 navy & white "ceramic" patterned.
● 1 pair loose deep green velour pants.
● Several long t-shirts (and for summer, also a few long singlets), also used as nightwear. One is floral, others have hearts or polkadots prints and some have Breton stripes, are graphic or have splashes of various colours. I will also use regular solid tees and tank tops in various colours.
● If I need a topper, I will often use a long cardigan or a long open button-front shirt. And if I need some warmth against my neck, I will wear a big, soft scarf.
● I will also wear cotton or light wool socks, depending on the season. And Birkenstock style sandals.

HOWEVER, none of my capsules are very strict, as I love to mix things up a bit and play around with my clothes, footwear and accessories. So instead of a long tee, I might wear a short velvet tee or a longsleeved crewneck pullover from my regular wardrobe. And I might wear ballet flats and add a bracelet or a short necklace. Often, I will also wear an item like jeans, loose pants, a skirt, dress or button-front shirt as loungewear--it just needs to be soft, comfortable and practical.

My sleepwear is different to my loungewear.

I don’t have dedicated loungewear but I wear a mix of two hoodies, black jogger pants and leggings- and in summer loose cotton dresses. It might be worn all day in the weekend or just for an hour or two. It also might get worn to and from the gym or even for a walk with a friend.

My gap is probably a soft merino or wool poncho or cardigan for winter, and next year I will need to update my Lululemon jogger pants.

My loungewear is different from my sleepwear but probably doesn’t *look* different. I have 2 sets for each of 2 seasons (S/S and F/W). I wear Boden cotton pj pants with loose cotton tees for warmer weather and Boden flannel pj pants with Gap hoodies for colder weather. I also layer underneath with a Halogen cotton cami. I’ll sometimes throw on sweatpants (Roots) or leggings (Costco).

My sleepwear is a Halogen cami and cotton pj pants (ON, J Crew).

Olukai flip flops and Glerup slippers round out lounging capsule. I also do robes in the morning over sleepwear for an hour or two depending if it’s a work day or weekend.

It's taken me about five years to figure out a functional sleep and lounge system. My year-round sleepwear is:
3 pairs random printed boxer shorts
3 long-sleeve cotton tees (thrifted Boden bretons) for cold weather
3 short-sleeve cotton tees (old sentimental graphics) for warm weather; as these tees die off, I'm replacing them with cute cotton camisoles.

Lounge is:
Two zip-front hoodies
One pullover hoodie
Two pairs sweatpants (cold weather)
Two pairs gauzy cotton cropped wide-leg pants (warm weather; new this year!)

I'm on the lookout for one non-hooded pullover sweatshirt to round out my lounge topper selection. Mornings and evenings, it is chilly enough for a cotton hoodie pretty much year round. Thing is, the zip-front ones work better with crewnecks underneath; they're a little uncomfortable with a v-neck or a cami.

Pjs and loungewear are not quite the same here. For summer pjs, I wear cotton tanks, and cotton print boxers I’ve made myself. There is no such thing as summer loungewear. If I shower at the end of the day before I want to wear pjs, I just put on a fresh shorts and top outfit.

In cold weather, pjs are long knit pants from TJMaxx, or me-made flannels, with short sleeve tees, either cotton blend yoga type or ladies soft graphics from Kohl’s. I have a fleece draped cardigan and a fleece zip jacket for “robes.” I wear socks to bed in the winter.

Cold weather lounge wear used to be long sleeve cotton unisex race tee shirts with black yoga pants or fleecy warm up pants, with a gray fleece race sweatshirt (the standard shirt at one of my annual races - I have several.) I used to change out of office work clothes to this combo every cold day before I retired, and then to pjs at bedtime. But now I don’t dress up, and when ready to change out of daytime clothes, I just go straight to pjs.

I usually make at least one pair of sleep shorts and/or flannel pants every year, and buy some sort of color-matching top when I do. Then the most worn or threadbare pair is reluctantly donated or pitched. My oldest boxer shorts are about 10 years old. Flannels don’t seem to last as long because they lose their flannelishness.

My lounge wear is totally separate from sleep wear, and usually purchased specifically for this purpose. Current faves: zella joggers, wildfox sweatshirt, loft long sleeve tees. I’ll also throw in a long tunic sweater if I find one on super sale.

My loungewear sits virtually unworn all year, but I LOVE it for the horrid weather of January through March. I have a couple of pairs of comfy leggings, a few cotton t-shirts, two pairs of Roots sweatpants, a few Roots hoodies, and an uber-soft crewneck sweatshirt - think that's about it.

Honestly, aside from the Roots sweats, which I love, I've always had the most luck for loungewear at Old Navy. My black leggings are almost as old as my 13 year old son and still in good condition, my uber-soft crewneck is from there also, and I've had other bits from there over the years. The quality/cost/comfort ratio is just right for me.

Have fun creating this capsule!
