I can relate being in business and exporting for our work - it’s just so challenging to plan and forecast when things change so frequently. I can see how exhausting that must be.</p> <p>My work is in aviation so I find clothing style and fashion a break from work. </p> <p>Two things I have found positive in the last couple of years have been starting a new sport - pickleball - and getting my colours done. I am not rigid about it but it was interesting and a fun way to think about what suits me. I support getting a professional in to help - you have an excellent eye and wonderful taste but sometimes someone fresh and impartial can be useful. And it’s also fun. And I’ve been wondering if I should do that again this year. &nbsp; And if I’m honest, I’m not sure I have the energy this year</p> <p>2025 kicked my butt. &nbsp;For those who don’t know, I work in retail and the year started &nbsp;with uncertainty and tariffs. &nbsp;It seemed like a never ending cycle of new and different costs, and so it was an unending cycle of updating and forecasting costs, sales and margins. It felt like retail was finally finding our new normal post pandemic, and then this. Honestly I’ve been in retail for almost 40 years and this was just the most unexpected chaotic thing, and it feels like it’s going to drag into 2026. On top of that one of the people who works for me went out on a unexpected disability in February so for almost &nbsp;5 months before I was allowed to back fill the position, I was doing both her job and mine. And we had 2 small reorganizations in there was well. &nbsp;Let’s just say, it was a year, and leave it there&nbsp;</p> <p>Between WFH, the current fashion trends/cycle, and my general basic uniform(Ish) dressing has made me feel less inclined to post here, but I want to get back to this fabulous community and back to fashion and style as an outlet for my creativity. &nbsp;</p> <div><br /></div><div>Sorry this was long and rambling.&nbsp;</div><div>I guess I just wanted to explain my absence and say I missed you all and looking forward to seeing what 2026 brings&nbsp;</div></p>
