mexico is casual.

have been many many times to cancun, playa del carment, Puerto morelos, ixtapa, zihuatanejo, troncones...

anyway, it is casual. day dresses are a great choice. good pool coverup so that you can go eat in your bthng suit.

sandals. I don't do heels while in mexico.

enjoy.

a shawl or wrap or pashima is great for evenings on the beach too

I agree that casual is the way to go, with something warm for chilly nights. Here is a thread from my Mexican vacation a couple of years ago. Hope it helps a little:

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....f-the-seas

Also, what I wore in the Caribbean would be fine in Mexico, too:

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....f-the-seas

Thank you both!

I hadn't thought about silver jewelry...I'll do a bit of research before I go.

And I had wondered about needing a topper for chilly evenings.

Whale watching sounds incredible there.

I went to Nuevo Vallarta the last week in January, two years ago. I can tell you that the evenings were much chillier than I expected. You will want a topper for sure. I think I took one cardi, and wore it every night. My girls each had one pair of long pants, meant for the travelling part of the trip, and they got worn a few times. Capris are a good choice, if you like them. On our last day, we were shivering by the pool, but the rest of the days were glorious.

Have fun, the whale watching is amazing, if you have the chance.

Lucky you! Absolutely love those business trips with the husband! ;) I went a few years ago to Monterrey and Monclova. Mexico is traditional. I would bring a few day dresses and cardigans along with light weight pants. Silver jewelry is beautiful in Mexico, but be aware of the prices and taking advantage of someone that appears to be a tourist. Hope you have a great time!

This time of year I usually just concentrate on looking as good as possible and staying warm. (I'm a total wimp about cold.)

In a little over a week, I get to accompany my husband on a business trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. YeeHaw! I've traveled a lot in Europe, but never been to Mexico.

I'm about to head to my closet to seek out warm weather items...I'm really regretting not stocking up on khakis in the last year or two. I tend to live in either jeans or black slacks. I do have a navy blue sheath dress, sleeveless, that is easy to dress up or down. Perfect for a dinner one night.

Other than that and a bathing suit/ cover up/sandals, I'm not sure what to take. What would you take? And maybe a better question might be what would you shop for while you were there? wink, wink
