Not only is it our sons' university, but it is also Laurie's alma mater. Laurie is so warm and outgoing, the hour we spent over coffee at the campus coffee shop just flew by. I think we could have talked for hours and still not have run out of things to say. I have found that there is always an instant connection when meeting another forum member, and I agree that this is due to the wonderful tone that Angie and Greg have set for the forum and blog. I also met Laurie's delightful son and parents and hope our paths will continue to cross over the next few years.</p> <p>Laurie was lovely in her striped skirt, denim shirt, and flats - a perfect smart, casual outfit! I was dressed very casually for the evening football game in my black Kut jeans, BR geo lace top, AGL ballet flats, and B. Makowsky tote. I later changed into my Converse for the game and was thankful for them - it poured!</p> <p>Laurie, I am Queen Tub Balancer, but I think I would have completed part 3 of "The Triathlon" if I had tried to balance on those rails. For those of you who are not familiar with this W&amp;M tradition, here's an explanation:</p> <p>Stage 3 of W&amp;M’s "Triathlon"[edit source | editbeta]<br /> One tradition includes William &amp; Mary’s own version of a triathlon (aptly called "The Triathlon"). It is a set of three tasks to be completed by each student prior to graduation. These include jumping the wall of the Governor's Palace in Colonial Williamsburg after hours, streaking through the Sunken Garden, and swimming in Crim Dell.[1] The three tasks of the Triathlon do not need to be completed at the same time. However, some students choose to complete all tasks in immediate succession, all while completely undressed. This feat is referred to as "The Ironman Triathlon".</p> <p>My son may or may not have completed all three parts last year by the end of his first semester. ;)</p> <p>Thank you to Angie and Greg for making these wonderful connections and meet-ups possible! Debbie (Deborah) and I connected at our sons' university in Williamsburg, VA on Saturday&nbsp;during Family Weekend! &nbsp;</p> <p>I had asked Deb to send me a picture so I would recognize her and she reminded me that she is the person who perches on the edge of her tub for WIW's but always crops her head! &nbsp;"Oh! &nbsp;you're the <i>TUB</i> person!". &nbsp; We should have had her perch on the railing at Crim Dell to show off those skills! We clearly need to see more of this beautiful face of hers&nbsp;in future WIW's. &nbsp;We were totally MOTG's this weekend, as it was about comfort and staying cool. &nbsp; When I was a student at this same school I was usually in sweats and a tshirt. &nbsp;This outfit was just as comfortable, but very YLF-inspired. &nbsp;Striped Loft skirt, &nbsp;Gap chambray, Skagen ceramic watch, &nbsp;J Crew flats, &nbsp;Banana Republic tote!</p> <p>What a lovely opportunity to make a friend that would never ever have happened without this forum. &nbsp; I am always fascinated &nbsp;by how we find our way here and then make these connections. &nbsp;For me it always goes back to the tone that Angie sets for us - one of kindness and positive energy and connection.</p> <p>Our boys met, so now my freshman has met another fellow student as he finds his place and his way at William &amp; Mary. &nbsp; Deb offered my son her contact as she's 2 hours closer to the college, in case of emergency, and that just makes my heart swell.</p> <p>Here's to Angie, the&nbsp;YLF forum and&nbsp;to future opportunities to see Debbie and more of you in person! &nbsp;Have a great week everyone! </p>
