I'm glad you asked this question. I think straightlegs and bootlegs can still be current if they're styled correctly, but it's easy for me at least to feel rather old-fashioned in them. I think skinnies (not too legging like) are OK with a jacket and longer top but what if you need to take the jacket off? Then you just look too casual. I like the idea of a slouchy trouser as has been trending, but with my not skinny body at least, I need to wear it with a fitted, tucked-in top or the proportions just look sloppy.

Also, good fit bootcut trousers are gorgeous when you match them with trendy tops and statement footwear. The devil is in the detail. I can help you with that detail if you like.

were i work, we have a similar dress code.
i think skinnies and ponte pants are made totally work appropriate by wearing a more structured top, one easy way is to add a jacket (blazer, moto or bomber).
i also really like just a regular straight leg, like this one from the loft. http://www.loft.com/marisa-str.....orExplode=.
for this fall, i'm looking to add a more relaxed pant, like the plaid one from zara that was in the angie's black footwear post .

How about a slightly slouchy, somewhat tapered trouser? Look at some past looks from Shannon and Suz in particular for inspiration!

I love Angie's casual capsules from the last two days but my reality is that I spend most days at work. I would guess my dress code would be described as business casual. (Most men wear khakis and button downs, +/- ties)

I like the idea of skinnies and ponte pants with booties or tall boots but I always feel a little casual. Bootcuts seem boring though, though that's what most people I work with wear.

I'd like to wear more skirts and dresses but it's physically a little challenging for me.

Ideas?
