Loving all these suggestions as I always find navy so hard to wear in the fall & winter and have usually reserved it for spring/summer. I have yet to try navy with black - with black hair, I just find the overall look so dark!

I'd absolutely wear it with black. Black and navy is a magical combination :0)

There was a Target commercial on before Thanksgiving that caught my eye---the actress playing the hostess wore a navy cardigan over a bright fuchsia dress. If I remember right, she wore a belt over the cardigan. The fuchsia brightened the navy and the navy toned down the fuchsia. Very attractive!

Good ideia CS!
I love also:
navy with brown pants or skirt and cream shirt;
Dark denin jeans, white button down shirt and heels (good for work);
emerald green dress (love this color combo).

I have a lovely navy blue open cardigan...but I can't decide what color pant works best with it. Jeans work for casual wear, but what about for work? Is black with navy a no-no, or is that an old, dated rule?
