I can't imagine any of our wineries doing outside tastings at this time of year. I'd vote something that runs smart-casual and veers towards the dressy end, just because I wore white to the last wine tasting I was at and miraculously came away unscathed (and you've seen how much I flail), so it can be done but something more mid-toned might be better. Wine tasting here is a rough sport--we're usually tromping around the wineries and it is cold, wet and muddy! For a wine shop get together, I've only ever seen people dressing casually. Dress as your usual smart self. I also tend to focus on my hands in these sorts of situations since they get noticed when doing stuff like drinking cocktails or wine.
