I would wear a seasonal (red or green) or jewel tone or metallic colored top. Maybe even a little bit of sparkle to it. And if you have a casual office, dark wash jeans sound lovely to me.

I think what you mentioned is great. We usually do our work lunch at a restaurant too and this is basically what I would go for.

I agree with Day Vies, what you want to wear is fine, I would just jazz it up a bit with a little sparkle and shine. Add booties, a scarf, a fun belt, that will take your outfit a notch above your usual casual Friday ensemble. Enjoy and have a good time!

Your idea of skinnies and a sweater isn't boring it's practical. I would go with a jewel tone sweater. If that isn't festive enough for you I think you can liven it up with a fun bootie (color or shine) or with a a sparkly scarf or a jewel tone sweater. The list goes on.

It seems like you want to be a little festive so I say add some sparkle and or shine to your outfit and see what happens. Have a great time.

My company has decided to hold its Christmas luncheon at a restaurant this year on Friday. We will go from the office to the restaurant at lunch time. Not sure what to wear - we never had a Christmas lunch outside.

Will straight/skinny dark-wash jeans and a nice sweater do? Or are jeans not a good idea? Or is that too boring? Could I wear a scarf with the sweater or is that not appropriate for a lunch at the restaurant?

I don't think it is a dress-up type of lunch since no dress code was listed. Plus we do have casual Fridays at work. What would you wear ? Or could you point me to links here on YLF or elsewhere for ideas. Thanks for all input!
