Have you tried it with the sweater from 2, the boots in 5, lighter grey tights and do you have a sweater or jacket that would work with all of this? I also think the outfit in 5 is fab. Figure you'll be sitting down and photographed so skirt coverage and comfort is key. I think my white skirt is too summery (would look really odd with tights), plus I don't think it goes with any of my boots. I'll play around with the jacket a bit more for sure, though.</p> <p>ETA: Thought some more about this... maybe I could pair the lace print blazer with the silver skirt in photo 5. The print and color of the skirt are subdued enough that I think it wouldn't clash. That would be very you, and yet somewhat dressy. I do think blazer and footwear would be key to styling any of these skirts in a dressier way. YMMV, but although my showers were casual (many guests in jeans), I definitely wanted people to know *I* had dressed for the occasion since they were all coming in my honour. It will be a luncheon + tea at someone's home, so not super fancy but since I am (sigh) the guest of honor I think I should look nice. (And somewhat conservative, since it will be a lot of the older generation, so nothing too out there or crazy.)</p> <p>Anyway, I was thinking I'd do something a little springy with a printed skirt, some kind of top, and maybe my white blazer (or possibly my cropped black one with a lighter blouse underneath). It will be cold (30-40 degrees) and possibly with snow on the ground so footwear will most likely be boots or booties plus tights. I was thinking either my Everybody booties (photo 4) or the suede boots in photo #3 (which are more casual but work really well with skirts).</p> <p>Here are three skirts that I thought might work:<br /> --Ukrainian Easter egg Nanette Lepore skirt, which I love but I'm leaning towards not wearing it because for some reason I wear it all the time around these people so they've all seen it before. </p> <p>--Yoana Baraschi drapey tulip skirt. I love the way this drapes and the colors are happy. I'm not sure what top to pair it with though. (The pink thing in the photo is a handknit hoodie, which would be too casual. I don't have much else in that color...)</p> <p>--dark horse candidate - tiered grey/yellow floral skirt. This is the oldest thing in my closet -I've had it since I was around 10 (obviously it's been altered to fit me as an adult) and keep it for sentimental reasons. It's actually pretty flattering although hard to style. </p> <p>What do you think? Do any of these strike your fancy? And what would you pair them with? (keeping in mind the weather constraints above.)</p> <p>ETA: forgot that I also have this silver skirt (photo 5). I could do something like the outfit here but with black boots for a sleeker line. </p>
