Ditto what Viva just said. Yes, do talk about how you can help shoppers integrate Ann Taylor into their existing wardrobes. Good luck!

I actually think it can be helpful to wear SOME of the brand's clothing but also integrate it into your own wardrobe. It's important to show that you understand their aesthetic more than that you can be a mannequin. Even one well-showcased piece worn with your own clothing shows that you can help a shopper choose an item that she can wear with her own clothing. (And you can even use this as a talking point. Most shoppers need to be realistic about how much they can buy, and it's an asset if you are a salesperson who can integrate something new and "Ann" into their existing closet.)

Also -- totally agree with Susie. Wearing an item with your own clothes shows your personality more, too. That's another important thing.

I agree with the others....since you have an interest in working there, I assume that you have some of their clothes. I would choose though, but not just a suit, for instance. I think it would help to put your spin on how you put an outfit together or accessorize it.

I would add that even if you can't dress head-to-toe in the brand, if you capture the aesthetic of the store, you'll be good. The outfit you have in mind sounds like it does so. Good luck!

I recently interviewed (successfully) with an Australian label and was dressed head to toe in the label:). I think it hurts to add your own flavour with accessories, etc, but they will want to see you can carry their aesthetic/look and inspire the customers to buy:)

I would most definitely wear clothing from their line. I would dress head-to-toe Ann Taylor. Good luck.

More info, please! Link to the store? (Ann Taylor? Lord and Taylor? Or just Taylor?) I'd say: look at the staff and dress like them, only slightly more formally. You want them to be able to picture you walking in the door and going to work. That said, the outfit you describe sounds classic and appropriate for almost any interview.

What I had in mind was a basic black blazer with a burgundy blouse black single sole heals and black slacks that flare at the bottom with simple gold accessories. This is my first job at a clothing store.
