That's the spirit of the style renewed Polly that we know :)

Love the sound of the animal clutch! (Also forgot to say that the larger size looks best. Nice to know you were able to follow my guidelines).

Looking forward to the final outfit!

I'm started to get excited about this. The dress was nothing like as much money as I thought I'd have to spend to get something good and it partly ticks off another Fall purchase from my list. Can't wait to wear it afterwards dressed down. Would never have believed I could wear a sheath dress but checked back through Angie's guidelines for pears and followed the directions...

So many ideas here, thank you all. I found an animal print clutch last Friday that could have been ideal but didn't buy it and now it's gone so will keep thinking. I like the idea of silver and there's plenty of that around. Accessorize is a great tip for hose, thanks Julie, wouldn't have thought of looking there.

And thank you again everyone for your lovely comments and ideas - had been starting to dread this wedding but starting to look forward to it now!

I'm just really excited by the sight of you wearing this dress. Accessorize has some fab hose at the moment including nude micro fishnets.

I thing this dress looks great with the jacket (and without of course). I would go with the bigger size.

Love this dress. You can wear this anywhere. Do do like patterned hose? I think they would be great with this.

This outfit has the potential to be KILLER.

Add fun hose, black pumps, sweet clutch and either statement earrings or necklace.

You'll be able to dress this frock down too, Polly. Denim shirt!

Hi there - That's an awesome dress. Definitely go with the bigger size.

I would probably do mini fishnets in either black or nude depending on shoe. Also, although I love the jacket on you, I would hate to cover that beautiful zipper in the back of the dress. I would still wear the jacket to go to and from the place but I would not wear at all once inside.

As far as shoes, I prefer the black but I would personally go with something more colorful or contrasting, maybe a cobalt blue or red shoe? Even a patterned shoe would work, that would be fantastic.

size up, jacket, lighter shoe.

initially, like the darker shoe but love the lighter shoe with the jacket.

??what will you wear on your legs? if darker hose then dark shoe, if nude patterned hose is an option, try that with lighter shoe.

blingy clutch in a metallic (satin or leather or bejeweled) would be FAB.

ps: that neckline really highlights your fab collarbones. makes you look slim slim slim

I like the bigger size too - to me it looks more sleek. I prefer the dark shoes and love the jacket. Perhaps if you had a black and white clutch?

I prefer the bigger size, I love the zipper detail, and I love it with the jacket! I actually like the nude shoes better, but to my eye they look a bit summery for late October. I think I like the light leg (either bare or nude fishnets) whatever shoes you choose, though.

Do you have some sparkly earrings or a necklace? The white jacket is so glamorous over the dress--I think you need to echo that in an accessory or two.

It's fun to see this taking shape! I'm so impressed!

Sheath dress - is it OK and should I go for the bigger size (pics 4-7)?

Black or nude shoes?
Fishnets? - black or nude?
Other thoughts?

After my lacklustre efforts to use what I had in my wardrobe (with as ever the most wonderful support and suggestions to help make it work from you lovely people), Angie sent me packing to find a sheath dress. First time I've worn one of these (it's always the 'first time' with anything I buy since finding YLF!). The first 3 pics are the smaller size, the rest the bigger.
