Actually I am revisiting the JE ones. They are currently on sale on line which would balance out the cost of having them altered. I'm going to try them on again tomorrow:). And I did find another pair with a geo print that could be a possibility also I just have to make sure I do have the right blouse and jacket for either of them as I don't want to have to purchase anything other than new trousers:)

Sorry you didn't have any luck at the store when trying on the items. Hopefully when you go back it will be a great trying on day.

The black pants with the jacket sounds fab and would they be more versatile in your wardrobe?

Would you want this outfit if there wasn't a wedding?

I like the idea of the pant in black-especially if you go for the blue jacket. It would be less corporate if they don't match, and the jacket sounds more interesting.
The blue pant will go with most though, and is very pretty!
I hear you about the weather- it could be hot or cold by March.

Elisabeth cool story and I agree its fun not wearing what everyone else is wearing.

I went and tried on the pants today. AND there is a matching jacket!! It's a 40 degree day here today so trying on clothes was not fun and don't trust my instincts today.
The pants are a straight leg and I was reminded how much I don't realy like this look on me. I would really prefer a slimmer or tapered leg. The jacket was fab. So I didn't buy them. I need to go back when it is cooler and I am in a better frame of mind to try them again. The pants are also available in black with a slightly different patter. The jacket has a black trim so I am also thinking of the blue jacket over the black pants. I took some photos on my phone but the lighting was awful. I may post them tonight if I can lighten them up. I also have to consider the weather for this wedding as these items are new stock for the coming season. If it's a warm day I will melt.

Sure, why not? I like the idea. Those ones you've chosen look cool. And as Tina says, you could wear them other places besides the wedding.

I wore a funky black pant suit to a wedding once, but with a dressy sleeveless top under the jacket instead of a shirt. It felt great. I was the only woman there not wearing a dress, which was fun. I didn't want to wear a dress because the bride had borrowed MY wedding dress, and I didn't want to compete with my own idea of the perfect gown, so...

Go pants!

I love patterned pants, so I would be a definite yes. This is a great colour and a lovely sheen and they would have many uses beyond a wedding.

Caro where did you find yours. I love this look and how will you wear them?

Katiepea that is exactly why I have decided to by pass a pair by Jacqui E. At this stage I am thinking the navy blue slightly peplum silky top and a shrunken jacket (both of which i already own...i would post pics but my silly Ipad is having "a moment". Trousers are returnable though.

Otherwise, for non wedding wear, I have a drapey white blouse, drapey black hi low top and a few other toppers that I think will take it them from special occasion to evening to office:).

Lovely, I really, really like these pants!

Being a nervous nelly, my only slight reservation is how difficult they would be to style with the top. Do you either own or think you could easily find a shirt/shell/top to coordinate? If you own what you think would be a suitable top, could you take it with you to try with the pants in the shop to make sure the entire outfit works to your satisfaction?

I just worry that you'll buy the pants and they'll look great, but you'll have a nightmare trying to get the perfect top to complete the whole look. Please disregard if this is just poor little, uncoordinated me worrying over nothing!

Hi Lovely Ladies,

We have yet another wedding to attend in just over a month. I am totally over the dress, hose and pumps look - which has been my wedding "uniform" for the past 18 months SO I decided I wanted to wear patterned pants and create more of an interesting suit look.

I am thinking of going and trying these pants on wit the wedding in mind. They are jaquard textured straight leg pants and should be a good length on me cos Im a shorty.

Love your initial reactions to wearing these to a wedding. Note, it's not formal but smart.

Thanks
xxx Deborah
